Gillards school funding panel full of scamartists?
Feb 6th, 2011 at 7:57pm

Transparency accountability are two words the Australian Labor party just don't value.
Throughout their term we have seen them call upon 'external' panels to assist them with making key- decisions which effect the lives of all Australians, this and when policy is made/changed in accordance with these panels recommendations, our government refuse to take responsibility for these changes, as though they weren't who made the decisions themselves. Talk about passing the buck!

I ask you all, did we vote for a government or a private anonymous panel we the public didn't elect?

Effectively we have voted for a government which then in turn leaves important decision making up to those we may never learn of, much less cast a vote for.

Is this acceptable?

Do Australians have a right to know who makes key-decisions concerning their country, their lives, this and have a right to demand transparency and accountability also?

Well, apparently not according to a Gillard panel government.

Emerging issues paper encourages community debate

16 December 2010:

The Chair of the Review of Funding for Schooling panel, David Gonski AC, today announced the release of an Emerging Issues Paper aimed at stimulating further community debate on the review.
The Review of Funding for Schooling: Emerging Issues Paper reflects the views expressed to the panel during its recent stakeholder listening tour.
Over 70 schooling stakeholders were involved in the listening tour, including government and non-government education authorities, Indigenous education and special education representatives, and parent, principal, teacher and union groups.
Mr Gonski said that the preliminary listening tour was an invaluable experience for the panel.
“Hearing first-hand from stakeholders about the issues affecting education providers, principals, teachers, parents, and students has provided us with a strong platform for our work,” Mr Gonski said.
“We understand that this is a complex task and, while not underestimating its challenges, we look forward to providing advice to the Australian Government that may inform future funding arrangements for schooling.”
The review will provide an opportunity to examine the funding arrangements for schooling that are currently in place, to see how well they support all students to reach their educational potential.
“It is the panel’s hope that this paper will help stimulate the debate in the community on funding for schooling,” Mr Gonski said.
“I would encourage all those with an interest in schooling to participate in the review as our work progresses.
“Submissions are open until the end of March 2011 to enable all members of the community to contribute their views.”
More information about the panel’s activities, including consultation opportunities will be released over the coming months.
The Emerging Issues Paper and further information on the review, including the panel’s second communiqué and information on how to make a submission, can be found at www.deewr.gov.au/fundingreview

Did any of you know the Chair of the Review of Funding for Schooling panel, was David Gonski AC, and that his 'anonymous' panel of cherry picked unionists and stakeholders would be making important decisions about funding our children's schools?

Did any of you know this person existed, much less knew this individual, and his panel were entrusted with this sort of responsibility?

Because I didn't.

I wonder how many other covert 'secret' panels Gillard has paid to make decisions for her.

Is she saying, she and her education minister is incapable of making decisions themselves?

Well, in light of Firths recent step-down...perhaps there's just noone else to make these decisions for her, so she's left it in the capable hands of anonymous those who we will never learn of.

Nice to see an invisible faceless panel of individuals cherry picked by Gillard herself are running the show...yes?

NO!!

Sad

The fact that they have only released this media report now, despite the actual meeting having occurred back in December is a little concerning. I doubt they intended the media would notice at all.

Quite inconspicuous to say the least. Roll Eyes

Labors bureaucracy and paper weights are costing tax-payers a fortune, and for what?

Roll Eyes

Heres the actual press release, media report....but have the press mentioned it...the MSM I mean?

NO!

http://www.deewr.gov.au/Schooling/ReviewofFunding/Documents/PanelMediaRelease.pd...

Why?

Because I doubt they even knew where to look.

It seams, this government have taken a shining to privately consulting their own press ...ever heard of DEEWR Media?
media@deewr.gov.au

For all those messy press releases, they now resort to do it yourself Government press.

I am stunned. But I know I shouldn't be!

And you'll find that's basically what has been happening for many a year.

My cousin was hired as part of a policy consultancy team for the Howard govt. They dealt with issues such as the elderly and the unemployed. What they'd do is come up with several options for policy then obtain survey results on them. Whatever polled either the best or with the least likelyhood of lost votes is what they recommended as the desired policy - often that was a case of "do nothing". Apart from the people reading their final report and recommendations, there wasn't an elected official in the process.

The last I heard. he was on a similar gig for the Rudd govt.

The thing is, Howard took responsibility for his policies, this and was not this secretive about his process... I mean, take a look at it for gods sake, note the date it was published as a media release onto the DoE website, and submissions of community interest, (not that they will be taken into consideration as the anonymous cherry-picked panel has already been decided) closes in March, in just a few weeks.

Labor are conducting themselves very secretly, why?

http://www.deewr.gov.au/Schooling/ReviewofFunding/Documents/PanelMediaRelease.pd...

Secret panels, secret media releases, what the frick is up with this government?

Roll Eyes

Just over 60 panel members made up of union bosses, investors and stakeholders will decided the future funding of our children's schools, and this applies to both public and private schools.

The Chair of the Review of Funding for Schooling panel, David Gonski AC.

David Michael Gonski, BComm, LLB, AC, (born 7 October 1953) is an Australian public figure and businessman. The Sydney Morning Herald has described him as "one of the country's best-connected businessmen".

David Gonski was born in 1953 in Cape Town, South Africa. His family migrated to Australia in 1961. He attended Sydney Grammar School and graduated with the degrees of Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws (with the University Medal) from the University of New South Wales. He practised as a solicitor with the firm of Freehills from 1977 to 1986, becoming their youngest ever partner at age 25, before leaving to co-found an investment bank.

Current positions held include:

Business:
Chair, Investec Bank (Australia) Ltd
Chair, Coca-Cola Amatil
Chair, Australian Stock Exchange.
Chair, Ingeus Limited.
Director, Westfield Group
Director, Singapore Airlines

Do you think he will give a rats ass about public education, and or anything other than ultra exclusive private schools?

Guess what private schools will come out of this richer than ever before.

Mr Gonski is a high-profile philanthropist in Sydney's Jewish community.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/news/david-gonski-to-chair-therese-rein...

This and chairs our ex-PM Rudds wife, Therese -reins  company.

Small world.

Cool And I wonder if  the Ubertas group,  managing director and Zionist Albert Dadon (Jewish development giant who is a close friend of the Rudds, and employed Gillards boyfriend Tim Mathieson and funded ALP's campaign) is one of the 60 panel members?

I'll bet he is!

Again, such a small world...no wonder they didn't want to notify our MSM about this release...well not until it was all over anyway.

Cool

If you assumed Labor were for the working class, think again!@

It's just, they have always been more inconspicuous about their self-serving elitist process, whereas Liberal just lay theirs on the table...like it or lump it.

Our schools are in big trouble!

And not many people know about this panel.

We have 3 weeks!

Cool.....

If your child doesn't attend a Jewish school, or otherwise exclusive private school, be concerned.

Likewise if you are a teacher or principle!

More about Zionist Albert Dadon...

Kevin Rudd was cultivated by Israel lobbyist, Albert Dadon, who sponsored him on two trips to Israel. The same Israel Lobbyist who employed Gillards boyfriend Tim Mathieson, this and funded Labors campaign.

With a high profile Jewish anthropologist David Gonski AC. and Zionist chairing the Review of Funding for Schooling panel, our schools are in big strife.

http://www.uiansw.org.au/about_people.cfm

Of course we already knew this, but this just sets it in concrete.

Why is this panels members (other than the chair)  anonymous...well, I think this speaks for itself.

I think it's time we looked into all of Gillards 'secret' panels, this and took a closer look at who chairs them also...."IF" we are able to find them this is.

FOI?

...  but we only have 3 weeks, so don't like our chances of finding out who the other 60 or so panellists are before then.

I would put money on it that Albert Dadon or the development company Ubertas group he presides over is on it.

Just a hunch.

Jobs for the boys taken to a whole new 'fascist' level.

Every teacher and principle in every school across Australia needs to know about this school funding panel, perhaps if they lobby, (not with their pro-labor unions however)  because their unions form part of the panel too, this and will effectively be working against them.

I have had some experience with unionism, and can tell you now, Labor will have their bases covered this and will ensure these teachers and principles tow the line, will pacify them until it's all over.

I was once with the AWU, it's where I feuded with Bill Shorten over the ATS affair, then quit the union and represented over 300 workers as a non-union member independently.

Again, the union tried to screw the workers over here also, until I threw a spanner in the works and point-blank refused to encourage the workers (my boys) to sign proxy vote forms this or agree to the companies DOCA, the AWU loath me.

And I loath them.

Freediver, I can send you the documents via PM if you would like to see them.

For my compliance, they were even going to make me an organiser.

Grin

The teachers unions will be working against them on this, guaranteed, I doubt teachers even know about it yet.

If my reward for screwing over 300 workers was to be declared an AWU organiser, complete with bomber jacket...lol.. I wonder what Gillard had to do, this and screw over, when she too became a AWU organiser?

We will forever wonder I guess!

Cool

Note the difference between a coalition supporter and a coalition preferer!

I prefer the coalition to the ALP, though should they get in I will be equally critical of their process, as I was when Howard was in.

I don't discriminate, I grill them all.

If Abbott gets in and is equally dishonest as this governments been (Admittedly, this would be a pretty hard act to follow)...I will come down on him just as hard.

No party's perfect, so it's in all our best interest to critically evaluate all those who come into power, for this is what leads to more transparency and  accountability.

Watch and see when Abbott gets in, ... if you think I'll hold back or give him the silver service because I happen to prefer a coalition government, think again.

Before I head off...

http://www.isca.edu.au/html/PDF/2010%20Funding%20Review/DPM%20Media%20Release%20...

Note panel members, this must be costing us a small fortune.

Gonski was a close friend and advisor to the late media baron Kerry Packer. Together with Lloyd Williams he is executor of Packer's estate. While he provided advice to Packer, Gonski was also a director of the Packer's media competitor Fairfax.-wiki

No wonder both sides of our media remain tight on this, I found one article, but it was written a while back, and was rather vague.

It mentioned him being an anthropologist, though omitted the fact that he was a prominent Jewish 'specific'  anthropologist when addressing his new position as Gillards chair of the Review of Funding for Schooling panel which I found interesting, not that him being Jewish is a conflict of interest, but why leave it out?

Why not just say, zionist Jew, and media corp advisor (both sides) and chair of Rudds wife's company to advise Gillards new government how future public and private schools funding is to be allocated, even though he's on the board at Sydney Grammar school himself.

Could someone tell me what Labors education minister is doing?

Could someone tell me what any of Labors ministers are doing?

Cool

Rudds wifes company, 'Ingeus'  appointed the Westfield director, UNSW chancellor and chairman of Coca-Cola Amatil and ASX, David Gonski, as its chairman in 2009, after the Rudds were forced to close their domestic arm of the company here in Australia due to a conflict of interest.

Kev and his wife's company 'Ingeus'  board also included ( back in 2009)  the winegrowing Qantas director Garry Hounsell and Bob Hawke's former economic adviser and the National Competition Council commissioner, Rod Sims.

Do we want our children's schools being funded in accordance with the recommendations of those who chair corporations?

And why are we paying these high profile individuals to do what we already pay this governments ministers to do?

Is Gillard saying her ministers are incompetent, or does she believe the funding of schools should be determined by corporate advisor's?

If that's not fascist, I don't know what is!

Welcome to the real Gillard government, and it's faceless corporate directive operatives.

Smiley

Fascism! Now tell me this government isn't fascist.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

Better still, tell me how this government isn't fascist. If you can!
