God didn't ask, so it is rape ... why are we praising this behaviour to young children. Out of disrespect for women?

I think it was consensual Immaculate Conception.

No more interesting is where you got the statment wrong as it means without sex so there was no screwing involved and since rape is in reference to this act the answer would be no.

Don't think there is a law about causing conception though unless she was a minor. Lucky that not a lot of Women work underground.

though to follow through to the next step or question the prospect of forced IVF, while also probably not rape it would certainly be assult or some other illegal action depending on how the rape laws are worded. i.e. penetration by a needle could in some areas be considered to be rape but I would think mostly not possibly more indecent assult or something.

Immaculate Conception wasn't included in the bible until about 1300....

The actual term used in the bible at the time it was written translates as 'First Child'....

If there was an annual 'dumbest thread' award, like the Oscars, Greens_Win would be the equivalent of a director who only makes films about the Holocaust.

Greens, you're assuming that 'god' had actual, physical sex with Mary....Not to mention you're also assuming it was non-consensual

why would he have needed to??

He was, after all, the 'designer' of humans, so he'd know how to kick start the pregnancy, without physical contact...
Not to mention that the physical act would violate the whole 'Virgin Birth' doctrine....

As Professor Julious Sumner Miller used to say, in the ABC show "Why Is It So".......'Never assume, when you assume, you make an ASS out of U and ME'...

The topic title and the opening post do not make any sense given that Immaculate Conception is a Catholic doctrine which states that MARY was born without original sin.

For some reason, the concept of Immaculate Conception is widely misunderstood. It has nothing to do with Mary's conception of Jesus but with the conception of Mary herself in her mother's womb.

As such .. I'm going to lock this topic for now.

I've already started a new topic titled Immaculate Conception which will enable all of us to discuss what the term actually means before we start topics on the subject.
