BOB Brown has brushed off Julia Gillard's criticism of the Greens as an extreme party, dismissing the attack as "product differentiation".

The Greens leader today denied his party posed a threat to Labor, despite plummeting support for the government on the back of its carbon tax plan.

He said the Prime Minister would benefit from working with him and urged her to adopt more Greens policies.

“The Greens are only extreme in the sense of extremely popular and growing,” he said.

“I just take the Prime Minister's comments as part of the political debate.”

Ms Gillard last night described the Greens as “extreme”, saying they were “not a party of government and have no tradition of striking the balance required to deliver major reform”.

Senator Brown said the Prime Minister was seeking to differentiate the Labor brand from that of Greens, despite her adoption of longstanding Greens' policy to tackle climate change.

There is nothing homophobic in Macca's original post.

Then explain the title.

As the Howard government increased in MP's, the percentage of female Liberal MPs decreased. The undertone of the Liberal Party of the past have been sexist ... are they now furthering their hate towards gays?
