simple low unemployment numbers 4.9% nonsense.
Apr 7th, 2011 at 5:30pm

today we had the governments low unemployment numbers of 4.9% for last month (march).

the government states 37.800 new jobs in the march period, yet if you decide that march had 31 days , try this simple maths  37.800 into the 31 days for march, that would be over 1200 new jobs everyday , no way...

so we created over 1200 jobs  all over australia  everyday, seven days a week for the march period, dream on , all lies lies, and more lies...

They need to fudge a low unemployment figure, so the figures don't appear to blow-out so much when the ba$tards force all those DSP recips onto No-Hope.....er, I mean New-Start.

Floods, Cyclone Yasi blamed for Queensland job pain

QUEENSLAND'S jobless rate has eased, but there are fewer people in work as the floods and Cyclone Yasi continue to affect the state's economy, the Government says.
(The old blame the cyclone crap)

Queensland's trend unemployment rate fell to 5.6 per cent in March, from 5.7 per cent the month before, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data released today.
(The unemployment rate fell)

But while a shrinking of the labour force saw the jobless rate ease, there were 4100 fewer Queenslanders in work, Employment Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said.
(...but there were fewer Queenslanders in work, 4.100 fewer)

Mr Hinchliffe said all of the jobs lost were part time, while 1000 full time jobs were gained.

He said many businesses were still facing tough challenges after the summer of disaster.

"That's why we're committed to making sure people living in disaster-affected communities are given a chance to take on the jobs that are coming as part of the rebuilding process," he said in a statement.

Mr Hinchliffe said the Government still had 36,400 more positions to create to meet its election promise of 100,000 new jobs
( the 100,000 new jobs will make up for the 100,000 lost jobs)

I wonder why they are concentrating on the 'jobs advertised' numbers. These numbers are extremely misleading.

For one thing, the 'new' jobs are also in the 'individua'l categories on the AJS site, so that's doubling up.

They advertise for franchise jobs, which are buying a business, they should not be counted.

They advertise for green core, which is a short term WFTD scheme.

They advertise for the ADF which are not available jobs.

Of course it appears that there are lots of available jobs out there, but it's a way to make up fake numbers.

Why is the government afraid to admit that we have a huge unemployment problem?

If the truth was known Swan wouldn't be able to rant about our blooming economy to the rest of the world, who are going under. Lucky old Australia. How do they do it?

By fudging the numbers.

Name any month this year, Queenslander's have lost thousands of jobs, but they can still come up with falling unemployment levels.

Maybe you all shouldn't worry about the lies the government tells to the media and just make sure you are employed.

The government lies and the government steals and the government wastes your tax money, this is not news it is just a fact.

Nothing you can do about it

I am employed thanks bigole.

I will always worry about the lies the government tell, just because there's nothing we can do about, doesn't mean we can't talk about it.

We don't like it, but we don't sweep it under the carpet.

Not easy, when the Govt LIES about the figures to make those who are unemployed look bad.

Which sounds better.....??

a)- That there are plenty of jobs, but the unemployed won't take them. These people need to be
FORCED to work. (Patently a lie, but used as justification to further penalise the
unemployed. Widely believed by a basically ignorant public).

or...

b)- There are not the number of jobs available that is claimed, most that are, are either part-time
or casual. Most in service industries eg Maccas, Hungry Jack's etc. Numbers of REAL unemployed
are climbing steadily, but we'll hide those figures. And we'll continue to refuse to acknowledge
that we do NOT give the unemployed enough to survive on, and will vilify them at every
opportunity. (FAR closer to the truth).

Vilifying and penalising people for being unemployed (for ANY reason) MUST be stopped NOW, preferably by LAW.

And the LAW MUST BE CHANGED to place unemployment benefits ON PARITY with pensions. And it MUST be done NOW.

Also, it MUST be made ILLEGAL to vilify or discriminate against ANY unemployed person.

BTW: - I also have a job, but will continue to support the unemployed. Someone has to go in to bat
for them, and I don't see too many of YOU stepping up to the crease.

The best way for the unemployed to feel good about themselve is not having special anti-vilification laws preventing anyone from hurting their feelings, it's to have a job.

BTW you are right I don't give a shiat about the unemployed, nor should I have to, this isn't friggen kindergarten. People need to harden the bugger up and look after themselves and not rely on everyone else to wipe their @rse for them.

BTW I have been unemployed, when I left the military I had near zero transferable skills; fixed that problem by re-educating myself at my expense and making myself employable.

How wonderful it is to see people that care about their fellow Australians.  It should be remembered, those people that are working today, could be the ones the are unemployed tomorrow.   Wink

Welcome to the brave new world envisaged by our political leaders.

Like I said, make sure you are employed and don't rely on anyone else, unless of course you enjoy a life of bitter disappointment.

low unemployment means the economy is running to well and the fear of inflation means that interest rates have to rise which is exactly what the greedy banks want Wink
