Didn't really live up to its promise IMO. Some lovely statements about motherhood, and any debate about Osama shut down with the standard,"you're saying it's our fault". If Lindsay doesn't want to reveal his personal opinions he shouldn't agree to go on public forums.

Watched last nights episode. I was wondering what all the negative press Gale Dines got was about; now I understand.

Everything is men's fault, never the woman's.
Men are to be made responsible for the harm that porn does, never women.

She blames men for the porn actresses for getting throat infections from sucking on penises that have feces on it. She blames men for women's anuses falling out after too much anal sex.
As distressing and as ugly as these things are, where is the self-responsibility? She wants to sue the porn comapnies for this sort of harm. Isn't that like, as one audience member said, suing McDonalds for being fat?
It seems common knowledge that eating feces is harmful and inserting large things continually in one's anus is not good for you. It's like walking bare foot over broken glass then blaming the glass and the soft drink company for the cuts.

I'd prefer to see Dines and other activists teach and encourage personal decision making and autonomy rather than blame others.

Yes, Dines is one of those easily flustered types.  Annoying.  I watched the show for Howard Jacobson - and he didn't disappoint.   Smiley

I saw Dines on The Drum. She's found an angle that appeals to a certain market and she's running with it.

She's just rehashing Andrea Dworkin's angle and she's just as annoying.

I saw parts of it last night, lots of raised voices...  I'm afraid my mind just got hooked on a word uttered by George Brandis I think it was - "disincentivise" and I couldn't cope with it after that Smiley.

There's not a lot of patience, respect or self-discipline on the panel so far tonight...

Ditto, ditto!

Austen Tayshus behaved like a juvenile shytehead throughout - and sabotaged any semblance of serious adult discussion!

Doesn't start here for nearly another hour, I figured that Austen T was too lightweight, guess I'll still watch. Roxon and I have a thing going on, one day I might let her now Smiley

LOL   Wink

Seriously, but...I reckon that this was hands-down the worst episode of Q&A ever - a shemozzle from beginning to end...

I had thought that Austen Tayshus might offer some positive comedic dynamics to the panel but the opposite was true - he was grossly intrusive, abusive and counter-productive throughout...

On the plus side, they showed a priceless video of Abbott's pro-Carbon Tax rant from 2009...

Well next week will be interesting for me, Natallie Pa'apa. I'm a fan Smiley
There's no doubting Natalies political commitment. As I recall her appearance on Spicks 'n Specks she's a reticent public speaker. Possibly ought to keep to the stage she excels at, but we'll see.
