Company Will Be Fined $24,000 And Pay Compensation
Apr 22nd, 2011 at 8:37am

An Adelaide aviation company has been fined $24,000 and ordered to pay $8,000 in compensation to a teenage employee who had parts of his fingers cut off in an accident in 2008.   Sad

SafeWork SA says the apprentice employee was 19 when he was hurt while he working with a guillotine to cut stainless steel.

It says there was insufficient instruction given to the apprentice about using the machine and there were no written instructions available.  Sad

The company, Cobham Aviation Services, had its penalty reduced because it entered an early guilty plea.

We all know that a fine or two can work wonders.    Smiley
