I often wonder if you guys really know what it's like to raise a family, run a home and make ends meet on a budget.

Some of the stuff you come out with, suggests you don't!

Irony, thy name is Andrei!

As evidenced by your posts elsewhere, you wouldn't have any idea how hard it is to budget for the vast majority of Aussie households - who have total household income of 1/4 to 1/2 of your household income and little or no savings to tide them over through extraordinary expenses...

Pansi - Are you therefore stating that my wife and I, on one income and with two children - do not know what it is like to budget?!

No. I'm sure that even Warren Buffet budgets. He probably has no trouble in getting his budget to balance, with a little left over for a rainy day even. On the other hand, a wage earner on the minimum wage would have a little more trouble to find the money for the rising cost of living expenses.

I am not quite sure we should be bringing in Warren Buffet.
We're talking here about everyday people.
I could not afford to quit my job. I am sure Mr Buffet can.

People make their own way in this world, if they are on the minimum wage they have not acquired the skills in a market driven supply and demand society to earn more than they do?
Now whose fault is that?
I spent 4 years at university and a further 3 studying for my CA.
Does that not explain why my budget would be slightly higher?

We all have tough decisions and pressure in life, it's how we respond and whether we have the 'stickability' as Mrs Thatcher put it, to knuckle down and work.

Now, we do budget, we live a different life to our pre-family days when we had 2 incomes and we budget quite well. We cant afford to do somethings we used to do.

That is life, it's about getting on with it.

Good job the Greens and Labor want a carbon tax to increase everyday bills isn't it?

I mean, that'll help.

Baby boomers are basically responsible for the shite place the world is in right now anyway.

A greedy, wasteful generation if ever there was one.

People go on about Gen Y, I don't think they are as bad.
