How ironic, that Abbott claims that Gillard isn't listening to the electorate...

Perhaps he should stop squawking long enough to think about the reasons behind the fact that the electorate still prefers Gillard over him in the PM stakes!?

Not to mention that voters still prefer Turnbull over him in the Opposition Leadership stakes!?

Labor desperately needs a leader of CONVICTION. a man who will jettison the Greens, rebuild labor in its historical image and set about becoming once more the party that australia has supported int he past. The current labor brand around the nation is on the nose very badly. every state in the country is rejecting labor as it is federally.

time for some serious decision-making by Labor. Gillard needs to be jettisoned along with the Greens. This is where Tanner would ahve been useful!

IM not so sure. he is nothing if not incredibly bigoted and irrational. now that the Greens have started their inevitable plummet he will just disappear and I doubt he will return.

Last week John Scales, of JWS research, polled 2141 people in the 10 most marginal Labor seats and the 10 most marginal Coalition seats. Asked which, of the past five, had been the best government for Australia, 50 per cent nominated the Howard government, followed by 13 per cent for the Keating government, 13 per cent for the Hawke government, 12 per cent for the Rudd government, 8 per cent were unsure and, bringing up the rear, were the 4 per cent who nominated the Gillard government.

Which is more than can be said of Ms Gillard and her cronies.

This was only going to end up one way -

1) Rejected by the people and losing a majority after just a single term.
2) Backroom deals and millions in promises to buy independent votes
3) Huge election promise break and U turn
4) Budget that rips welfare of middle class families AGAIN
5) Huge backflip on asylum seekers

How was this ever going to be anything but poll plummeting?

The asylum seeker in particular. The 'policy on the run' which sees her pandering to the Right (where I sit on the spectrum) but only with a half-promise and we aren't ever going to vote for her anyway.
Then losing the support of the Left by even proposing off-shoring.

It's a mess and a right royal one at that.

IM not so sure. he is nothing if not incredibly bigoted and irrational. now that the Greens have started their inevitable plummet he will just disappear and I doubt he will return.

On Polls - Labor are relying on delivery over the next 2 years to pull them out of the mire.Whether this works or not is anyone's guess.
One thing we can put money on is the relentless carping of Abbott.
Not to try & defend Gillard but I must ask myself what is the agenda of the Murdoch press, do they own Abbott & the Liberal party,they are even more negative than Abbott to the point of blatant lies in misleading articles as pointed out on yesterdays Insiders.

On Woody - You might'n have liked what he posted but he was consistent, he supported the Greens & argued their case, which by the way if we substitute Liberal for Green in that sentence we have both Mr Weekend & Mr Hicks.
Plenty would dance on both your graves if you left, but I am & would be saddened at the loss of diversity of opinions.

Just posing the question (in a roundabout way) are we happy for a news empire to not only make news but to also MAKEUP news?
Shouldn't they just report it?

The primary problem with woody and most green's party voters is that they do not take the time to read and understand the green's party aspirational goals.

This leads them to make stupid comments about subjects they know very little about, but like the first poster stated he was consistent, albeit wrong.
