On Polls - Labor are relying on delivery over the next 2 years to pull them out of the mire.Whether this works or not is anyone's guess.
One thing we can put money on is the relentless carping of Abbott.
Not to try & defend Gillard but I must ask myself what is the agenda of the Murdoch press, do they own Abbott & the Liberal party, they are even more negative than Abbott to the point of blatant lies in misleading articles as pointed out on yesterdays Insiders.
On Woody - You might'n have liked what he posted but he was consistent, he supported the Greens & argued their case, which by the way if we substitute Liberal for Green in that sentence we have both Mr Weekend & Mr Hicks.
Plenty would dance on both your graves if you left, but I am & would be saddened at the loss of diversity of opinions.
On Polls - agreed. Election is at this stage 2 years away. Anything can happen. But to be honest, the way they are going, Labor is not looking too fresh, and I think the drop will either continue, or stabilise around the 34-35, with them bound to lose from the current observations.
All Gillard needs to do is stop playing to Abbott's whining. Stand up, get some balls, and just go ahead and push forward with policy; and ignore it. Eventually people may see that there are 2 options: an option for a government that wants to act, and an option for a government that just whines.
Because at the moment she is playing to him all the time. The budget, the Asylum Seeker "solution", and so on.
On the News - Agreed 100%. Longie, news make up community opinion, and don't pretend it reflects opinion rather than the private interest of a few. If you actually believe that the news presents unbiased views, from News Ltd. AND Fairfax, then you've got something completely wrong with your eyesight and I suggest you check it out.
On people leaving - I too would be sad to see the some people leave. But not Hicks.
