Ive posted a few times already, but thought I'd introduce myself before I got too far into it.

Politically I'd say I'm somewhere between a cross between Keating and Turnbull if thats possible. I like to leave things to the market.

While I thought Turnbull was a crap opposition leader, in reality he's the closest current politician I can find to my point of view.

Over the journey Ive just about voted for every party in some form or another. Nationals, Libs (although I wish I could retract my recent NSW lib vote), Greens, Labor. Ive done 'em all!

Welcome, Dr J - methinks you'll blend in nicely...

Meantime, you might like to make your mark over here on the official 'Welcome' thread too: -

Lamenting the shift in the Australian psyche, away from the egalitarian ideal of the fair-go - and the rise of short-sighted pollies, who worship the 'Growth Fairy' and seek to divide and conquer!

it will be a long time til the Libs match the sheer SCALE of the waster and incompetence of their predecessors.  As for backflips... It is true that Labor rarely backflips (except on carbon tax). they see a disaster and just plow on ahead regardless, making sure the carnage of a crap policy wastes as much money as possible. never let pragmatism get in the way of policy. never let failure and disaster modify your policy platform. The Crew of the Titanic were reincarnated as the ALP.
