Shame, that these grown-up high-profile men can't seem to control their urges to help themselves, eh!?

Sams done some stupid stuff, but he wouldnt be getting romantically involved with her.

I do see him exploiting her for TV and radio ratings however.

Yes agree about the stupid stuff, but I dont think it is exploiting her for ratings.
Regular listeners of MTR will know the following:
About 3 months ago Sam invited Duthie to contact him and he said he'd take her out and 'talk to her about life issues" etc.
He broadcast the invitation a few times.

Then about a month ago, for about a week Sam was mentioning how he had some information that would embarrass the AFL regarding the Ricky Nixon saga, implying that Nixon was in fact the victim.

Then Sam went all quiet, until now.

It seems much more likely that he didn't want to publicise it.
After hearing the podcast Sam sounds completely different to his jovial character from the Footy Show.

Mr. John Sam Newman is a idiot to be polite but he is probably one of the very few people on Australian TV that doesn't care about his career and speaks his mind but doesn't sound like a lout doing it. What would the Footy Show be without him, honestly? What would Australian TV be without the Footy Show? Channel 9 no doubt tried to phase it out with that Between the Lines show which actually wasen't too bad. Mr. Newman is perhaps the Jeremy Clarkson of Australia but a Australian version, whilst those attempts at football shows on Channel 7 were like Top Gear Australia. Sorry know its off-topic but it is about Sam Newman and have a bit of respect for the man as he perhaps is in a class of his own (not necessarily all good).

Sam's public character would seem more of an act for the footy audience.
If you listen to the end of the podcast you'll hear a change.

Perhaps. Apparently he is nicer in real-life.

Perhaps he's up for a bit of both - but who really cares all that much at this stage!?

You really are a bitter old thing darling.  Do you often wonder why you are so lonely?
