Labor & Greens split on carbon tax

Carbon tax rift emerges between Labor, Greens
By Jeremy Thompson

Posted 39 minutes ago

A meeting today between the Government and the Greens on climate change has broken up quickly amid reports of serious disagreement between the two parties.

It is understood the Greens are unhappy with the Government's preferred deal on industry compensation, including substantial assistance to coal miners.

Other sticking points include compensation to coal-fired electricity generators and the emissions target when the carbon tax moves to an emissions trading scheme.

An informed source has told ABC News Online "the temperature of the negotiations has been pretty high lately".

"Oh der" . . .I can almost hear you talking like that skippy. It sounds like about third grade playground conversation.

of course they will not agree.....yet

its all a stunt..this is for the benefit off all those that actually believe this TAX will fixGW...and as we all know or have been told it all hinges on the PRICE..doesnt everything these days???

the greens say whats right of course..

if you claim as gillard does she has always believed in a CARBON PRICE>{TAX}..then she has do something that will at least we hope make a difference..if they are going to try and have a bet each way.. well good on the greens for sitting on them hard.

I am still going for $30 that way both side appear to give way a little.

in the mean time the greens need to hang onto their voter base and keep to the bargain they made..or else!

the labs well do they have anything to lose anymore????

Its going to be either:
High price. ($20 +) with a number of exclusions.
or
Low price ($20 - ) all inclusive.
