China has been described as the worlds super power when it comes to research on alternative renewable energy.
There is a clean green city being built in China which when finished will house over 300,000 people and will be a model for all future planning in the country.
While it is agreed that China is now a major Green house gas emitter it is also aknowledged around the world that they are also the leaders when it comes to a future without fossil fuels.
Does Australia want to be left behind when China moves away from coal and reaches their goal of energy independence or do we want to be part of a bold new global future?
Abbott and his troglodite cheer squad would have us relegated to the past and why? To progress their own short term careers..thats why!

As a matter of interest, how does the air quality in China's cities compare to, say, relatively-comparable capitals in Australia (if such comparisons are valid) during the 70s, 80s or 90s - back when we had more heavy industry based in our cities and leaded-fuel?

I'm guessing that the pollies in the sardine-packed Chinese cities have a powerful daily incentive to clean up their air - over and above the carbon pollution issue - just as we did when we had lax emissions regulations...

Lamenting the shift in the Australian psyche, away from the egalitarian ideal of the fair-go - and the rise of short-sighted pollies, who worship the 'Growth Fairy' and seek to divide and conquer!

One thing is for certain, climate change deniers who are using their denial purely to protect our coal quarries at the expense of everything else will lose out when China reaches its goals of cleaner cities and energy independence.
China is moving at break neck speeds when it comes to modernising the country and when the next big break through on alternatives occurs Australia will be left holding the coal industry baby.
The future according to the worlds leading countries is alternative renewable energy..Abbott and his cheersquad will lead us back into the stoneage
