Mel or Mellie was a 'unique' personality that used to post on these boards....( a LOT).
She left in a huff, or was banned ( I'm not quite sure).
Since then, some people on here seem convinced that anyone and everyone who disagrees with them IS mellie or one of her alternate ID's ('sockpuppets' or 'socks')..

So 'mellie' is sort of like the forum 'bogeyman' (or bogeyperson)...


Personally I don't think matty is mellie..his syntax and attitudes are very different to mellie's..

I agreed with you yesterday that people continually making that accusation should stop and people should talk about policies and issues and not "who is being who" etc etc

I am trying to work out how creating this thread helps that case.

It's interesting mate, I will give you that. An interesting take on it.

What strikes me though is that in the poll done last year of citizens who were asked "Who if they had the choice would they want as President right now if they could pick any President from history"

Of those aged 35+, 69% said Ronald Reagan.

Reagan won 49 states out of 50 in 1984.

The 1980s mate. A safer world, a better world, socially, culturally and we all knew our place. We were the good guys, the Soviet Communists were the bad guys, and Miami Vice was on TV...

It's a bit long, but I'd love this for a signature.
