Three questions about the Aborigines.
Jul 4th, 2011 at 9:44pm

1. Didn't they invade this land? Kangaroos were here far longer than they were, and they came here and killed many.

2. How did "we" (meaning white people of today) kill them? I myself wasn't here in 1788.

3. Why do many Aborigines today complain about it when they themselves are part white? They wouldn't be here if it weren't for their own white ancestors.

The Lib diehards on this forum do nothing for their credibility when they post tripe like this. You only display yourself as an arrogant nutter.

It reminds me of the Irish complaining about the English soldiers raping their mothers, when most of them are half English as a result. Pack of whingers.

I am not sure of your motivations in these questions. Are you genuinely asking because you have been left ignorant due to the failure of our education system or are you simply a bigot?

1.  They initially migrated here during the ice age over 40 000 years ago when the Asian land bridge was open, during a time of natural and epic migrations on a planetary scale involving all species at the time. These migrations happened out of survival needs born from the conditions that existed. We of course are only able to call this a scientific theory based in probability from the research from many arms of science but i will go with that. Funny the basics of this were taught to me at high school in the early 80's.

2.  This is more complex and is about social responsibility as a community and acceptance of historical responsibility, not blaming you. If we can accept that our ancestors invaded in their ignorance or arrogance depending on your view and did great damage to the history and culture of an ancient peoples of this country, then we might be able to approach the idea of reconciling what we have done. Much has been lost and cannot be recovered but we can at least aspire to reach balance in the relationship. There is still much tension in the Asia region because Japan will not accept the crimes of WW2 so do you deny the genocide of the Tasmanian Aboriginal peoples.

3.  Now you really bit off more than you can chew. Generations of peoples that have faced social, economic, health and education disadvantage certainly are in a position where they will see the world very differently to you. Though many may be of mixed blood, the discrimination has been no less because they choose to identify as indigenous. No one says it is simple nor that there are straight answers. You can argue points i have made with ease, but don't deny the problem and shift responsibility because you don't want to know.

I was going to try to explain what happened, but I think she has her own theory and she'll stick to it whatever. Remember matty......education first, then travel.

Perhaps a better question would be why should we care that they were invaded and conquered?  It's happened to every other people on earth at 1 time or another.  If anything, abos should be grateful they got 40,000 years in peace before the inevitable ocurred.

Is it just me, or does the representation of the word “invaded” might signify massive financial compensation somewhere along the line?

Just remember when the word ‘sorry’ was publically announced, there was a 100% rise in lawsuits against the Commonwealth for compensation in one form or another.

All these law suits seems to be making the Aboriginals & parasite solicitors/Barristers wealthy, and the Australian tax payers poor.

Aren't we still waiting for more than just one successful case against the Commonwealth though from supposed 'stolen generation' people.
The amount of cases has increased alright, but they can't prove their case to be awarded compensation.

It is truly pathetic to see sad and mixed up people seeking justification for their abhorrent beliefs, and trying to find some way to develop an "intellectual"? argument to support ignorantly racist thinking.

This crap is not suitable for the politics board, so I will move it to "extremism exposed", and leave it there so that people can see just what so many people are unfairly confronted with, from idiotic racists.
