the problem is that they get commissions. If they just got a wage and thats it it wouldn't be as shonky imo.

no they don't ... commission on rent averages to about $1500 per annum (in my area) .. commision on a sale averages to around $10 - 12 000..... I couldn't care less about the rent, and if I find an investor to buy the house, I may even get to keep both anyway

Heh. there are no other agents. Captive clientele. And they like the rental commission more than the house commission cause the house is so cheep. And not just mine all of them in the area. I doubt very much that its the only place where this is happening.

Your in Brisbane? that makes no sense ... if your in a small town, go to a national agency like LJ Hooker or Coldwell Banker etc ... they don't need an office in your town to sell it

Well actually I did that. AND they said they would sell it for me. But then next day they came back and said no they weren't allowed to. Not being a real estate agent I dont know what happened there but I expect there are some lil real estate by-laws about that kind of stuff. I dunno. I am in brisbane yeah but the house is in another area.

Actually I did find out that if I want to sell commercial property I could sell it from anywhere.

Business is really slowing down. Oh well, typical Bugs Bunny 'Western' economy, must take its recessional and depressional sleeps, while the tortoise economies keep moving along without a glitch.
