Overall, the rugby world cup is a poorly run comp.

Too many meaningless games, too one-sided, the final games are ........uninspiring.

I agree I prefer watching Union against league..but when you see this WORLD CUP...so they bring in all this minnows to make it look like the world plays Union..they are doing themselves an injustice I think and making it all a bit hohum... its isnt interesting/exciting watching one team go over the line 50 times.. it just isnt!

good luck with countries like Korea and Japan.. but to put them in the same basket with the likes of NZ.. Eng.Aust.and SA..makes them look  like fools for turning up.

maybe having divisions like the soccer

exactly cods.

Could have the Div A being the top 10 teams
The Div. B the bottom 10 teams.

They can play 2 years apart in a country that is in that comp.
There would be closer games, better games.

Apparenlt NZ has lost milli9ns through hosting this overblown circus.

Imagine a Div 2 comp held in Romania. it'ld be great for rugby there.

thats pretty sad if NZ have lost money...union being their No 1 sport...but really why would you want to watch All blacks play Korea... even the kiwis would draw the line I would think..

its all a big money grab at the end of the day quality has not much to do with anything.. in the early games the good teams dont use their best players.. and so it goes on..the public is ripped off.

would you bother waching LA Galaxy knowing Beckham wouldnt be playing???

i fully agree sprint unfortunately the whole set up with bonus points etc is geared towards keeping the top ranked teams in at the end phases. Embarrassed

very unfair.

as a tax payer it will fall on us (kiwis) to pick up the short fall.....all $39MILLION and counting  Shocked, of it....and that doesn't take into account the MILLIONS tax payers are going to be expected to cover for the Rena disaster  Angry

bluddy great  Sad

exactly cods and as a nzer im embarrassed and ashamed how prices have sky rocketed during this time. its an expensive excersise just coming to nz from the northern hemisphere re: travel costs alone, then visitors get here and are literally (and NO pun intended  Wink ), getting fleeced by the unpricipled and unscrupulous.

not NZs fault though.. its the scoundrels that run the show..they like to fly first class everywhere..and have the best accommodation and everything that goes with it..demi gods..what they need a good shot of ... is being responsible for what they create if its a mess and makes a losee.. then its their fault not the NZ taxpayers..

you have had a terrible time this year and I think its disgraceful that a small group of Empire Builders..live like lords, yet take no responsibility..

isnt it the same with the Olympic crowd.. its all full of corruption and cheats.

The Wallabies won tonight but they were lucky as Wales didn't kick some easy goals.

score: 18 to 21.

Aussies  3rd place - a bronze medal.

Sunday will be great.
France versus NZ.  Smiley

It's nice that we got third but playing off for the bronze, I think, is a bit of a wank.

unfortunately cods, although it isn't nz's fault, nz'ers will have to cough up.

corruption is rife at top level, higher eschalon levels.

Come on guys.
The Kiwis will make a fortune out of this Rugby World Cup.
The cheapest seat is $800 at the final & you had to go
into a random draw & buy 3 other tickets first to get one.
The hotels are booked out -
the restaurant owners are laughing -
the travel agents are counting the piles of dollars.
It's all good except for the injuries to the players.
Some will be scarred for life.

I'll be watching the World Cup Final tomorrow.

For you lot in Oz the match is later on in the day.  For us here in Blighty it starts at 9am.  Even though it'll be a Sunday I'll be getting up early to watch it.  I'll snuggle up on the sofa under my dufet (I like doing that at this time of year when it's sub-zero Arctic conditions outside and so cold that Australians cannot even imagine it )with a nice hot cup of tea.

Being an Englishman I naturally would like New Zealand to defeat the French tomorrow.

Australia and Wales shouldn't be in the Final.  They both lost in the Semi-Final (althought the Taffs still haven't stopped whingeing about that deserved red card that Warbuton received when he almost broke a Frog's neck).
