And it's just such a pity that He's absolutely right and the Carbon Tax system as currently designed won't produce ANY benefit to Climate Change or Global Warming.....
I won't even bother to mention Tanya Plibersek's speech to seniors about the one metre sea level rise....
This is tiring...
So you think we should do nothing?
Do you think we should pollute more just to mock the situation?
Do you really think other countries will hear that Australia is polluting less so they will pollute more?
At the very least I think the carbon tax will help the renewable energy industry. As you are probably aware many of our industries are closing down.
China said that instead of increasing its emissions by 500%, it will only increase its emissions by 25% by 2020. It made this announcement soon after Australia announced the carbon tax.
Doing something is always better then doing nothing. The more people / countries do nothing, the more likely nothing will get done. The more people / countries do something, the more likely something will get done. We can't just wallow in our own crap.
You may argue the carbon tax is too expensive for you, but Tony Abbott's "Direct Action" plan will be about 50% more expensive by 2020. So instead of being out of pocket $1000, you will be out of pocket $1500.
Yes Julia said she wouldn't and after the election circumstances changed and she changed her mind. But I don't understand how spending an extra $500 in protest will really work either.
