You will find most refugee advocates also put their time and money where their mouths are and help new arrivals to this country in various ways.

Its quite simple just like in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos we followed the USA into wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that created and caused many thousands of refugees to flee for their lives.
We helped create the Iraq and Afghanistan aslyum seeker problem, not Indonesia or Malaysia and to force these people back into these countries is criminal.
As Ive said on many occaisons on here, you invade a country and bomb it back to the stone age you can expect a flood of asylum seekers to follow so those that supported the Afghanistan and Iraq invasions are also responsible for the mass of asylum seekers they have created.

the ones that call us bad names and racists and bigots because we dont believe in boat people...we belive in having a say in who comes here and not giving that right to people smugglers.. thank you...

yes they call us for everything... and want all those that come by boat to be giving the red carpet treatment... but not at their expense of course..

pansi says she would put her hand up... so would a lot of libs..in fact I have done so not for boat people but kids from unhappy homes..

I usually put my money where my mouth is..

no I doubt very much I would open my home at my expense for someone that can afford to come here by boat..I am not afraid to admit that.

however if they came in by the correct door.. I would most certainly put myself out to help them if I was asked, more especially the young..picky ok.. but I dont call other lousy names because they think different..thats their choice... but dont lets pretend you are St Mother Therese.. when you havent lifted a finger.

So the driving force behind selling everything and borrowing off friends and family and risking their lives and those of their kids as well as being stuck in Malaysia or Indonesia without access to schools and work for several years and the risk of having their application for refugee status denied is all because of getting a job in a meatworks somewhere in regional Australia?

Yes, you gotta love the general statements of fact without any actual evidence. 9 out of 10 are GENUINE refugees. THAT is a fact.

freedom is usually valued about all else. but the fact they destroy all identification and can somehow afford to pay the smugglers is suggestive tho, isnt it?

and even if they ARE refugees they are still illegal because there is a QUEUE and queue-jumpers are still just that - illegals.
