Yes it's true - that's what will happen here too if Muslims get their way.
Already Julia Gillard wants to send asylum seekers to Malaysia
knowing that many will be caned like this.
It will act as a deterrent to refugees.

It's incredibly barbaric & can be done for minor "crimes" like
drinking a glass of beer.
Abu - we don't want this here & we should break off diplomatic relations
with Malaysia - not encourage it.

Err no, that wasn't my point. My point was that the suggestion that some guy who was brought on Today Tonight to bump up the ratings talking about Shari'ah law in Australia does not mean if you just turn your head for a few moments, it might just slip into place.

Honestly, you people are half wits. Go and ask a senator how hard it is to get legislation passed, even when half the country wants it, yet you think one guy who comes on Today Tonight is going to just breeze it through. You're not all there, seriously.

No I do not think it is going to happen precisely because Australians are so quick to ridicule the plans of these Muslims. That doesn't mean we are over-reacting in criticising them. It is the appropriate way to respond.

No. But what I am saying is that unless the public actively defends freedom and democracy - from all those who would destroy it, not just muslims - then it will inevitably be taken away.

Abu we do not criticise you because we think you might actually succeed in your ambitions to have apostates stoned to death etc. Rather, we criticise what you post because what you post is stupid. You cannot expect to be able to use your own impotence as a defence for what you write.
