Look at the top left hand corner. Maslul is Hebrew. That's make me doubt it right there.

The guy is speaking Arabic, not Persian and there are a lot of Arab countries that have no love for Iran and would like to see Khomeni discredited.

The link says Umar forbade temporary marriages which were still being practised during Mohammads rule.

Why did allah allow temporary marriages then change his mind or was Mohammad making it up as he went along?

Its good that you complain about temporary marriages yet why are you silent on these child brides in Islam?

Nujood Ali is from Yemen ,how many shia are in Yemen?

Nujood was married at 8 then raped by her much older husband before getting divorced at 10,her mother objected to the marriage yet was unable to prevent it.

Annie if you marry a muslim and he dies happy with you,you get to go to paradise,If you remarry and your second husband also dies happy with you then which husband do you get in Paradise the first or the second one?

It was quite common for women to marry as soon as they reached puberty in most parts of the world until recently.

For example, in 1180, the Christian King Louis VII of France married his daughter Agnes to the Christian Byzantine Emperor when she was 8 years-old!

Is a person who has reached puberty really a child? Just because somebody sets an arbitary age of 18 as being an adult, does this mean that anyone under this age is less physically or mentally fit to be married?

Most of the women married by prophets in the Bible were under 18. So what exactly is the age when a person becomes an adult according to God? The only reasonable answer is the age of puberty. Afterall, if a woman is old enough to have a baby, isn't she old enough to get married?

I am familiar with Nujood's story. She's from a poor village and her father and abuser were ignorant pigs.

However, you should remember that it was a Muslim woman who advied her to go to court to appeal for help after she ran home. It was a Muslim judge who noticed her and took up her case. It was also a Muslim who defended her, and yet again another Muslim who allowed the divorce.

Just like it's Muslim activists fighting the ignorance that encourages child brides. Out of all the people I know in the Muslim community, only one was married at an early age. She was thirteen and she's now in her 40s.

Falah, just because it happens in England doesn't make it okay. I have a nine year old daughter and I would quite calmly kill anyone who thought about touching her.

I hope you are not saying a 9yr old isn't too young for marriage.

Perhaps for most women it is too young - some women don't hit puberty till they are 14.

There is nothing morally wrong with marrying someone who has reached puberty (as long as they consent)- even if the Australian government sets an arbitary age limit of 18.
