It is always amusing to read the comments about Jesus and Christians from those who have never read the Bible, prayed nor go to church. You generally sound silly. And that comes from being uninformed.

You are just assuming that atheists and agnostics haven't read the bible or gone to church. Perhaps that's where they develop their cynicism for those who are superficially devout.

Real Christians don't boast about their faith - they just live by example.

I can honestly say that I have never read more than a page of the bible at a time and wonder at the end what on earth they were smoking or drinking when it was penned.

Personally I don't believe in pixies at the bottom of the Garden, but respect the right of anyone to pray to or believe in whatever helps them get by, god, unicorns, the tooth fairy or Santa.

I have set foot in various churches and jointed in with other religious congregations and events over the years - and the trance-like state of the parishioners has always been downright freaky!

Ditto re the fervent preachings from otherwise lackluster clergy...

And yet I have done all of those things.

And I repeat , "christian" and "right wing" are two mutually exclusive terms.

You CANNOT be a christian and right wing at the same time..

No ifs. No buts.

Outside of the old soviet union I think you'd struggle to find left wing conservatives.

And that's beside the point.

It is impossible for a christian to be "right wing" and it's impossible for a christian to be " conservative".

Jesus was neither.

Why?? Isn't wanting to keep to the original traditions of the bible a christian idea??

What original traditions are you talking about?

The genocide encouraged and practiced by the god of the old testament?

The misogyny encouraged and practiced by the god of the OT?

The cruelty encouraged and practiced practiced by the god of the OT?

Jesus was far far left and he accepted everyone even boat people matty. You and Jesus have absolutely nothing in common, so either go as far left as you can get or ditch Jesus.

Which one will he pick?

I am a very caring and compassionate person, actually. Why do you talk as if right-wing people cannot be such?
