Like I said ... an ignore facility is what this site needs.

I'm sick of being followed into topics by the same useless and bored as well as boring trolls.

leave then, and don't come back

what part of "go away" don't you understand ?

is it being told by a man ?
or that you were booted as a mod from here before ?

That ignore facility is definitely worth looking into  ... there's way too many disturbed stalkers/trolls lurking about and following women into topics.

I sent a PM to FD. He requested that I start this thread here to discuss it.

Y'know the only reason i put that info up was because the mods seemed to think I was whinging. FD didn't ask for it to be kept confidential but normally I do keep what's in PM's in pm's.

It seems to me that the modding of the forum would be much improved if the mods had their own chat room off public forum where they can find some consensus before acting. I think most forums run this way nowdays. Certainly the best modded ones do.

on reading the front page on this board it clearly states do not complain about mods on this board... feedback.. by FD.

we are turning into a nation of whingers..learn to turn the other cheek so to speak.or accept that mods are human just the same as us posters....lol.. well most are.

It's the feedback board. I just made a suggestion on how to improve standards. WTF is your problem with that?

where did I mention ...
YOU

so whats your problem?

lisa... I think they should show it on the board when someones been deleted.. it shows everyone that person has stepped over the line..

where as now we have those who complain about someone.. and yet still claim nothing is done about it..

how do we know that???

if someone gets banned well thats their business.. but when a post gets deleted we should know who the offenders are.. that way we know the mods are looking in .. so beware,

FD is right its the personal stuff that gets out of hand..

lisa if you cant ignore someone who you call a troll then thats your problem you cant expect mods to feel your pain...

I prefer stalker myself.... its when they get down and dirty I too can play that game.

Thanks Grey, but I think terrorism is pushing it a bit. I would look for something more specific about murder/assassination.

Unless they are banned.

But I do think it really detracts from the board and is just begging for trolls.

Trolling is what politics forums are all about. It is members insulting each other where I draw the line.

Yes, that's what you said. Unless they are banned. But I figure that's completely redundant - everyone is OK unless they are banned.

Maybe you and I have different definitions of trolling. Debating a point and giving the other person a hard time isn't trolling. Sometimes people lose it and need a sharp reminder to pull their heads in. To me, that's expected and normal (though maybe not welcome).

Trolling to me is posting nothing but an insult. We saw exactly that with log_me_in. To me, openly allowing puppets is just a way of saying "well, if you want to get it off your chest, create another account and slag the other guy. It may get banned but your primary account will have no worries". You're building an environment that promotes log_me_in style trolling.

I have never been banned.

Probably because I am such a likeable kind of guy I guess.

Trolling, ie making an inflammatory and provocative remark, can be good for debate and bumps threads along keeping them active. I don't have a problem with that. Imperium does it well, he's terse but apposite, intelligent and often funny, even when I'm the subject. Log_me_in was/is just an attention seeking yob. We don't need that.

When a person's nick is banned and they create another one and return - there's usually an improvement in their behaviour. Obviously not in every case, but generally.

Log_me_in is an exception and has been posting here for years. He rarely changes his personality for anyone. Sometimes he's noticed - other times he's not. Obviously when he's angry and members become offended - he's banned again.

Still there have been far more offensive members than him in the past and a couple of them are still here.

In the scheme of things who cares whether banned members return under new nicks. If they're serial pests, then that's a problem, but otherwise if they're not harming anyone - leave them alone.

I don't think that was discussing terrorism per se FD. I think it was discussing changes to the law regarding incitement. Section 11 with particular regard to Australia. It covered the  extreme and not so extrme. My understanding is that saying somebody who assassinated an ALP member would be regarded as a national hero is walking the line, a bit of political pressure and it falls off the line on the wrong side.

If you're polite - you can usually get away with anything. This board is quite liberal compared to others and won't ban you just because they don't like your attitude - unlike some other petty forums who single people out because they're different and don't have the same point of view.

well I give those I dont like a big misss all round......it isnt hard but it does slow the boards down..as I see it.

the one liners.. dead horsemeat is a fav with me...I dont bother.

others cant say a nice word about someone.. its always negative.

matty and myself are good examples of peoples intolerance.

I get the miserables when its lies all the time..other people take it as gosple. so you have to fight back.

I dont see how anyone can complain about someone just because they dont like them.... yet when someone from their own side does the same thing they ignore that..

I have had a couple of shots at logmein..and he isnt the only one...

yet I have yet to see a lefty admonise another lefty for going too far..it doesnt happen..
