If it matters put me down for Smithy, PN would be fine also provided I can moderate (read delete) his/her end of the financial world as we know it posts.

I know you're probably joking, but this board needs someone who is neutral and won't take sides, nor has any particular prejudice against various members.

You haven't been here very long Qikvtec.

Perceptions has been here for a while and he is neither abusive nor has he appeared extreme in his Politics. He appears to be deflective rather than reactionary which is a good thing.

Do we need volatile moderators? When they are this way inclined it just creates disharmony and complaints.

Hmmmm, I lack a concept for 'naughty words', where do you stand on 'naughty words' Smithy? And where do the candidates stand on 'blasphemy'?

It is not personal. I'm not inferring that you're these things at all Smithy, even though you appear to hold very strong views.

Some of those who support Perceptions on this thread - don't support LW and it would only seem fair that they have a say in who an additional Global Moderator should be. Ultimately the choice is up to FD of course.

Naughty words are fine when used to reinforce an opinion on a subject, using them to abuse other people is not. The big C is never to be used.

Well gosh, thanks for the support folks but as Muso picked out early I was just taking the micky so feel a little embrassassed  Embarrassed.
Longy's doing a good job of the politics board and Imperium is an outstanding nationals mod, which other than posting music in the listening thread are the only places I really venture, so not sure how effective I'd be as a "Global".
PN would be good so he's welcome to it, but if asked I would consider it more seriously.

Just say the word - Actually please contact FD. It looks like you have a pretty good support base, and I reckon you'll do a sterling job. You have a sense of humour, and that's a prerequisite for the job. Try not to stop posting as you normally do, and nil carborundum illegitimi.  Grin

Oh yes, you are.  Grin Actually it will be kind of ironic to have somebody with a groovy Hitler icon as a moderator Smiley

Perhaps both Perceptions and Smithy together should be considered? Obviously some of the members believe they would both do a good job.

Member run boards are just that, so plead your case to Abu or Gaybriel.

Percy, Smithy and Grey would all make great moderators.

Please note that the mods are not appointed to implement their own policy but to adopt mine. We don't want 5 different mods with 5 different ideas on how to run the place. We have enough trouble with that sort of thing already. Reigning in the personal insults is the main priority.

I am considering all options including multiple appointments, but will let this thread run it course before doing anything. So far it seems that smithy and PN are the main preferences. Is that just because they have responded in this thread more?

What about you Grey?
