You'd make a great Mod, Annie - and you've been around longer than most!

LOL...thanks for the nomination, Annie - but, after the backlash over the 'Longy experiment', that would be a really bad idea!

If it matters put me down for Smithy, PN would be fine also provided I can moderate (read delete) his/her end of the financial world as we know it posts.

I know you're probably joking, but this board needs someone who is neutral and won't take sides, nor has any particular prejudice against various members.

You haven't been here very long Qikvtec.

Perceptions has been here for a while and he is neither abusive nor has he appeared extreme in his Politics. He appears to be deflective rather than reactionary which is a good thing.

Do we need volatile moderators? When they are this way inclined it just creates disharmony and complaints.

I believe it was around 2006/7 when I began posting at Yahoo with PN and many of the other members of this forum so quite familiar with style.  I couldn't tell you how long I've been posting here I would think +/- a year. I personally have no issue with PN nor his/her political persuasion.

I was joking when I mentioned that I would delete PN's financial posts; evidently not particularly humourous.  I also respect ones right to whine like a gas turbine when they disagree.

PN is entitled to his/her financial opinion as patently ridiculous as it is.

Politicians and Nappies need to be changed often and for the same reason.

One trouble with political jokes is that they often get elected.

LOL...I'd be tempted to do it anonymously - if only to get a window into the behind-the-scenes rubbish from the narcissists who hit the nanny button ad nauseam and try to crawl up the Mods' backsides...

LOL...thanks, Smithy - it's not as if there hasn't been enough nasty posts and entire threads about moi already!?

Dunno if I'd attract as much (or more) venom as Longy did - but I reckon I could trigger a full-scale mutiny...

Besides, it's your turn to be on the receiving end of some serious bi@tching, boy!

LOL...and you prolly thought I nominated you just cos I think you're a good bloke!?

Disappearing for months at a time is not a barrier to being a mod. You help out when you can.

Please note that the mods are not appointed to implement their own policy but to adopt mine. We don't want 5 different mods with 5 different ideas on how to run the place. We have enough trouble with that sort of thing already. Reigning in the personal insults is the main priority.

I am considering all options including multiple appointments, but will let this thread run it course before doing anything. So far it seems that smithy and PN are the main preferences. Is that just because they have responded in this thread more?

What about you Grey?

Well I hope you've told longweekend.

Surely 5 global moderators would be overkill? This board isn't as busy as it used to be and if you have 5 people doing their thing - there will be no-one left.

It would be impossible to co-ordinate so many moderators. Unless you know them all very well too many threads will disappear and too many people will be banned.
