*Sure....they're anti competitive as any subsidised job is.  It wouldn't be there without the tax payer.  Very damned difficult for a brainwashed collectivist to understand that I know....  (swaggy) *

This is the problem. Most people are happy to let the banks take their money for nothing in return.

Fees because they are doing you a wonderful favour by keeping your money.

     Account keeping fee
     Early Account Closing Fees
     Negative Balance Closing Fees
     Mini-Statements at Home Bank ATM
Full Statement at Home Bank ATM
Transaction Fee for Non-Home Bank ATM
Denied Transaction Fee for Non-Home Bank ATM
Balance Inquiry Fee for Non-Home Bank ATM
Fee for going over ATM transaction limit
     Check Card Replacement Fee
Foreign Transaction Fee (with Check Card use)
Fee for going over check writing limits
     Checking account monthly fee
     Overdraft Fees
Continuous Overdraft Fees (not the same as overdraft fees)
     NSF Fees
     Returned Deposited Item Fee
     Overdraft Protection Transfer Fee
     Returned Statement Fee
     Dormant Account Fee
     Counter Check Fee
     Online Bill Pay Fee
     Phone Bill Pay Service Fee
Failed Payment Fee (Online Bill Pay)
Excess Activity Fee for Savings Accounts

You pay for the CEO's $10billion bonus.

Gotta keep those bankers in business.

Sounds like a list of American Bank Fees; check gives it away.

What would be the point of charging a negative balance closing fee?

Politicians and Nappies need to be changed often and for the same reason.

One trouble with political jokes is that they often get elected.

I sure hope that none of the bankers get bonuses in the billions, its bad enough in millions.
It is real hypocricy when politicians talk about the Australian people being very financially savvy, when in reality only about 20% may be so, while the other 70% are completely ignorant.
Even on this forum, it is amazing that no one would comment on my post about the "super gabfest" yet it has now and  will have big consequences in the future.
I,am sure that you qitctec know what I,am talking about.

The Australian public have very poor literacy in much at all. They just like to fancy they do because of their BA in some unrelated area.
