she was an embarrassment as an MP. her fabulous ideas included:

MINIMUM 50% representation for women in parliament
MANDATORY 30 mins exercise for all employess each day

she was a worthless twit who after despatching Howard on the basis of a nation-wide swing and nothing more was thrown out by way above the national swing because she was a useless local MP.

Locals complained howard was never there. But neither was Maxine McClueless. One of them however had an excuse. He was PM.

She got a 16% swing to herself in primary votes that election. Pretty sure that's more significant than simply saying it was because of a nation-wide swing.

but then she was slaughtered in a massive swing back which essentially was a personal condemnation of her performance as an MP. she was DREADFUL. and when you think of it, every single one of labors celebrity candidates has been the same.

Peter Garret
Nicole Cornes
Cheryl kernot

disasters.

Yah, she wasn't very good after 2007.  I'm simply pointing out the fact that she did very much fight an incredible battle in 2007.  You don't get a 16% swing for no reason.

What was the point of her fighting a great fight in 2007, when she did nothing subsequently? I used to drive past her office, and apparently she was hardly ever even there. Yet she got payed.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my local member. Bastard always claims to be down in Canberra. Why? Shouldn't he be here?

I wish MY member spent more time in canberra.  that way he couldn't provide fodder for leftards like this:

Quote:
A WA Liberal MP has claimed Australians are unknowingly being converted to Islam by eating Halal meat.

In a speech to Parliament yesterday, backbencher Luke Simpkins said most Australians did not know that most of the meat they ate came from animals killed in accordance with Muslim law.

“By having Australians unwittingly eating Halal food we are all one step down the path towards the conversion, and that is a step we should only make with full knowledge and one that should not be imposed upon us without us knowing,” Mr Simpkins told Parliament.

The folllowing shows his heart is in the right place, but well intentioned idiocy is still idiocy.

Quote:
“What is happening is wrong. Too often the minorities in this country are looked after without regard to the majority.”
