NEARLY all of the 58,400 people in Australia illegally arrive by plane and both sides of politics have been panned for playing up the myth that we are being swamped by boat people.

There are 13 times more illegal immigrants than there are asylum seekers in detention who have arrived by boat.

Their presence in Oz only becomes illegal once their visa/entry document/etc expires.
