As economic conditions worsen, we will see how rapidly the world we live in changes.

When people suffer harsh economic conditions, that's when their true colours shine through.

We've seen the Muslim world live through a century of economic decline, and the people handled it quite gracefully. I really don't wanna see what it will do to Western society. The only thing keeping this society civil for now is the economic prosperity, once that is gone, it will descend into absolute anarchy I think.

or behead & whip people for blasphemy.

IMO, our Western society is superior because it is willing to scrutinise itself, and when necessary, it is willing to be self-critical of shameful aspects of the conduct of some among us.
.....well, that was a predominate aspect of our Western culture [i.e. a willingness to acknowledge 'uncomfortable' truths], before the influence of the 'blinkered' PC brigade!

Western society is a society which [at least should try to] acknowledge shameful acts among, and within its community.

ISLAMIC culture is a culture where the 'honour' of an individual or a family, is pre-eminently important, and must be defended, no matter the cost [....to others!].

ISLAMIC culture is a culture where honour must be defended at any cost, even if that means hiding shameful conduct and behaviour behind a veil of LIES and DENIAL [i.e. a persistent rejection of what is true].

e.g.
In a culture where honour must be defended, you can be a rapist, a child molester, a murderer, but so long as nobody knows about your shameful conduct and behaviour, your honour remains 'intact'.

Truthful exposure is often shameful, and can destroy a persons/family's honour.

Whereas, if you can successfully conceal the persistent, and bad conduct of yourself or a family member, your honour and the honour of your family/society remains 'intact'.

That may be so but it will never sink as low as Islamic degeneracy.
Islam has never been great intellectually, scientifically, morally, politically. It is jumbled demagoguery of the worst kind. When Islamic societies were best they were more unconcerned with the public dimensions of Islam. so its poisonousness for civil society was held in check. The Muslim golden age was of indifference towards Islam as political, civil, societal guide to life. Once Islamic nutters reasserted themselves and demanded that Islam be at the centre of society and politics, Islam started to decline even as it expanded militarily.

The West cannot unlearn its intellectual and moral greatness and all its gifts to humanity.
