2012 Queensland State Election

http://www.crikey.com.au/2012/01/16/poll-bludger-double-whammy-for-major-parties...

As a Queenslander, there is not many other people on this forum more qualified to talk about this coming election, so here is my assessment:

If Labor loses, Anna Bligh will have been roundly condemned for a series of blunders and frauds that were not of her own making. The party she leads are a group of complete imbeciles, who have not the means to prop her up to the level she deserves to be at.

Her performance and leadership during the Floods and Cyclone Yasi was unparalelled and simply fantastic. She put John Brumbys handling of the Black Saturday Bushfires in the shade. By this measure, SHE deserves to be re-elected. Not necessarily the party she leads, but herself as Premier.

Now, the LNP; despite the fact their leader in Can-Do Campbell Newman slithered into that role less then a year out from an election like a grass snake pretty much tells the entire story about how desperate that party is to win power.

What I don't understand is how Anna Bligh can be shafted in the media for the blunders of those under her, when the LNPs leader himself is responsible for two huge blunders as Brisbane Mayor, them being the Clem7 Tunnel which nobody uses and the inner city bike rental system which nobody uses.

Two policies which cost way more money then they were supposed to in the first place, and neither have come close to making any of it back. Please explain to me why this man is a better option then what we have now.

Bob Katters Australian party seems to be either extremely lucky or extremely opportunistic, as I cannot think of a better political atmosphere for a new party to enter into. They will no doubt win a considerable number of seats, possibly the most of any new party in Australia's history.

Personally, I am voting for Anna Bligh. Not the party she leads, but for her as a leader, because she herself deserves all the praise she can get for leading Queensland out of the nightmare of this time last year.

Uh, what exactly did she do that was so impressive? Cry and show some emotion? Why didn't she do anything BEFORE the floods came? A capital city of Australia should not have been built where this had the capacity to happen. And talk about delusional. She is the leader of the party. Sure, there have to be some other competent members in the Parliament in order to make it work, but at the end of the day, she has a say in everything, and name one thing that she's done right in the last couple of years. QLD Labor are just as bad as the toxic, pitiful, disgraceful and shambolic NSW Labor that were absolutely annihilated last election. Their result will be no better. What's more is that we get three Labor annihilations this year; QLD, ACT and NT. It will be like an orgasm to watch all three. Of course, the lying red-headed bitch has a part to play in the backlash as well.

Pllleeaase.

The party she LEADS is the problem lol. God help us.

We all know it is the leader that is the problem and the leader has got to go but in labors case, the whole dam lot have to go.

Why do labrats try to use disasters to prop a person up. So she did well in a disaster. Big deal. That is more of an expectation than a deserved free ride each upcoming election.

Also, you are not qualified to talk for anyone, except for yourself.

Proglol and matty - I don't know if u r QLD'ers 'cos I couldn't be bothered to look at your profiles...you'all don't come across as particularly interesting, but.. seeing as you have bought in ....  there is NO alternative ... Anna Bligh, despite the foul-ups of her underlings, deserves another term.

I simply cannot see any othr pollie in QLD with her ability.

As for the 'red-headed bitch' comment..... it is really simple.....  you are a wanker Matty.  Still living at home with your Mum and Dad looking out for u.... what WOULD YOU KNOW!?? Roll Eyes

Don't bother yourself with them, Jalene; anyone who spouts such destructive drivel as Progressive and matty need not have our attention wasted on them.

Serious?

So what exactly did you expect she should have done about this?

She did a good job during the floods. So what? That IS her job and while it was well done she was crappy before it and has been since. Even crappy performers can usually string together the odd good effort.

So you vote for someone because she sheds a few tears and shows emotion?

That will do me.  Cry

in hindsight she was pretty smart there BA.. the Feds came to her aid then everyone except Qld got hit with a levy.. so she is laughing all the way to the bank.. she should of course be made to pay it all back... but that wont happen will it?

the floods aided and abetted  by a complete stuff up at a dam..deserves a lot more attention into the govt than it is getting but again it wont happen!!

we dont have enough follow up of disasters in this country.. they collected billions and then its silence..no accountability whatever

As opposed to an Opposition Leader who has had a prior political career and NEVER strung together the "odd good effort".
