He certainly doesn't need the job, as many other unemployed actors, those who'd do as well in the role (if not better). Politics is Alan's forte and that's where he should sit firm.

On the way home, a Pacific Island young woman came up and said, "You look such a nice lady - many I sit next to you for I am scared. . ."

As she was twice my size I could have laughed.

There were a bunch of rowdy young men so I understood her reasoning.

She remained on the train and said that her father would be meeting her at the next station.

That's after one reaches 85 years and can choose, either to have another RTA test or, if having a good driving record, can forego the test but only drive a certain distance - mine is 10 km.

Yep, I'm long in the tooth but can still bare a few fangs!

Alan Jones' premiere in Annie less than a show stopper

HE was wheeled out as a left-of-field drawcard for the cast of Annie, but the opening night "big reveal" of Alan Jones in the classic family musical rolled on by without a squeak of reception this week.

While the radio king's co-stars like Todd McKenny received a rousing applause for their stage entrance, when Jones - as ageing President Roosevelt - spun around in his wheelchair for the big "ta da" ... nothing.

"It was so awkward," said one showgoer at the after-party on Thursday night. "The silence was palpable. Literally everyone else got cheers and claps when they came on. Even the dog!" Yikes.
