The major glaring difference being that a Muslim is one who surrenders his will unto the commands of his Lord, whilst a Jew is an ethnicity.
The Qur'an is stating people are best because of what is in their hearts, not in their genes.
Only someone with a seal on their heart could miss that.
You are mistaken Abu.
It ['election', being 'chosen' by God] is not, was not, about 'ethnicity'.
In being 'chosen' the Jews had 'a head start' on all other men.....
Romans 3:1
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2 Much every way: chiefly,
because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
But that is all.
The Jewish people have 'a head start', in our journey to God.
Leviticus 20:26
And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
The Hebrews were the 'chosen',
not because they were 'ethnically' special,
but because of God's promise to Abraham.
But in any case, the Hebrew/Jewish people failed to keep their covenant to remain 'pure' and righteous.
The Jewish people failed to keep the statutes and judgements of God.
The circumcision of a Jewish man, was a symbol of the 'cleanliness' [righteousness] which God required in his people.
But the 'cleanliness' [the righteousness] which God required, was a standard that all men would fail to attain, and a standard which the Hebrew people would fail to retain.
Jeremiah 4:4
Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it,
because of the evil of your doings.
Jeremiah 9:26
Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness:
for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart.
Romans 2:28
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

But Abu, it is laughable that you condemn the Jews for their unrighteousness before God, when moslems themselves murder people.
And why ????
Moslems murder people,
to defend their own pride and their own vanity,
AND CALL IT RIGHTEOUSNESS.
What an abomination before God.
+++
You can repent.
You still have that option.
But will any moslem repent?
Will a moslem repent, when what the moslem is defending, is his own vanity ???You said......
".....a Muslim is one who surrenders his will unto the commands of his Lord,...."
What commands Abu ???
To 'righteously' murder people who will not submit to,
the will of moslems ???
Abu,
Was Jesus wrong ??? when he said......
Matthew 7:12
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
Do moslems follow
that law of righteousness ???
Do you as a moslem, even recognise that statement of Jesus, that concept, as a law of righteousness ???
"The Qur'an is stating people are best because of what is in their hearts,....."
No, the Koran states that it is lawful for moslems to murder people who resist the will of,
your fellow moslems.
Abu,
Q.
Why is the Koran the word of God ?
A.
Because Mohammed told us that he got the Koran, straight from Allah.
Q.
Why should moslems believe what Mohammed said?
A.
Because Mohammed was a prophet of God.
Q.
Who said so?
A.
Mohammed.
To believe the veracity of ISLAM, you are compelled to accept as true, the utterances of ONE single man, a self professed warlord, a murderer, a pirate, a brigand, a deceiver, a thief.
