The spammers abuse it so I turned it off.

Please send one of the mods a PM with a link and quote.

To be honest, I did try that waaay back when longie was a mod. Before I decided to hell with it and just abuse people who abused me. Nobody took any notice and when I mentioned the fact, I was told to use a PM instead.

Really I think it's better that the button has been removed if it isn't going to be used. Saves confusion.

another board I visit has an ignore button. it simply removes any replies from the thread of antagonists
selec ted individually by the board member. it doesn't remove the replies in the threads it simply edits them out to anyone who would they might rather ignore - it isn't applied at the level of thread , rather at main board preferences - if you select to "ignore" a member it doesn't effect whether or not other board members "see" a reply by the "ignored" member just the selector.

it seems to work. perhaps the mods here could consider it for the board. it promotes a bit of harmony and tends to allow peeps to selectively snub those they wish to ignore - trolls particularly tend to ecome less obnoxious as a result as well...

That's been suggested before.

It's pretty easy to just ignore the people who irritate you.

I don't think a Shut up button would be effective enough  on Blackadder. I would prefer the eject button , for him at least. Oh and maybe FRED.   Grin
