bobby,

"They buried the F117s rather than let anyone have them.'

That is interesting, I never knew that, they usually send them to Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson AZ.

Do you have a link?

I gave a link on the F35 thread.
I haven't got time to find it now.

No matter,

I have checked,  and NONE were buried!  Of the 60 or so copies, most went to museums etc,  and into storage.

I am not allowed to post a link,  but it is in Wikipedia.

"Unlike most other Air Force aircraft which are retired to Davis-Monthan AFB for scrapping, or dispersal to museums, most of the F-117s were retired to their original hangars at the Tonopah Test Range Airport.[44] At Tonopah, their wings were removed and the aircraft are stored in their original climate-controlled hangars.[59] The decommissioning occurred in eight phases, with the operational aircraft retired to Tonopah in seven waves beginning on 13 March 2007, and ending with the last wave's arrival on 22 April 2008.[2][44] Four aircraft were kept flying beyond April by the 410th Flight Test Squadron at Palmdale for flight test. By the beginning of August, two were remaining. The last F-117 (AF ser. no. 86-0831) left Palmdale to fly to Tonopah on 11 August 2008.[44][60] With the last aircraft retired, the 410th was inactivated in a ceremony on 1 August 2008.[61]

Five aircraft were placed in museums including the first 4 YF-117As and some remains of the F-117 shot down over Serbia. Through 2009, one F-117 has been scrapped. F-117 AF ser. no. 79-0784 was scrapped at the Palmdale test facility on 26 April 2008. It was the last F-117 at Palmdale and was scrapped to test an effective method for destroying F-117 airframes.[44]

Although officially retired, the F-117 fleet remains intact, and photos show the aircraft carefully mothballed.["

Oh dear - I tried to add a reference  but all the references stuffed up.
I then deleted my work but it's still stuffed.
Wikipedia will kill me.

Can you get all the references back?

And since I actually worked on fighters during my 10 years service I will continue to correct you. You ehter were being lied to and too limited to realise or you didn't understand what you were being told; either way, most of what you believe is pretty much bullsh1t,

BigOl,

So a submariner told me that he was always stinking of diesel & he was wrong?

An air force technician told me that F111s have "black boxes" & they were not repaired but replaced & he was wrong?

I either have a lot of people telling me lies or you're a liar.

You failed to mention it was an Oberon Class Sub, NOT the Collins Class sub, so the deisel problem is NOT relevant to today's boats, so it was a lie of ommision

And you also failed to mention that or refuse to accept that the electronics packages are or at the time, serviced and repaired by RAAF Tradesmen & women as part of their normal duties, you are making out they were nothing more than 'box changers'.

So yes I am calling you a liar, you have been corrected on more than one occasion and yet you continue to present this sh1t as fact.

You do realise that is a conspiracist website, don't you, Bobby?

Wrecks, particularly those that utilise advanced, often potentialy carcinogenic materials usually get buried.  Its a quick, easy way of disposing of the problem.  Like most ignorant people you'd prefer to believe whispers from the shadows than the truth out in broad daylight, in front of your face.    Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Bobby, whats wrong, you're afraid that I've exposed you for the troll you are?   Grin Grin

The links you post, invariably do not support the premises you produce.  There is nothing in that link that all the F-117s have been "buried" as you claimed.   You owe us an apology for you have failed dismally to produce any real evidence to back your claim.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Your right bobbythebat1, just like books aren't always right....However:

Study Finds Wikipedia (Almost) As Accurate as Britannica (http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,2042333_2042334_2042491,00.html)

For a website on the World Wide Web to be Almost as accurate as Britannica, thats not only impressive but trustworthy.
