A doctor in my family has told me that doctors do not want to continue child berths because the insurance is far too high. Correct me if I'm wrong but very few doctors are willing to perform child berth.

Pre natal classes give mothers (or any other gender that gives birth) access to all information for women (or any other gender that gives birth) to be prepared to make the right decision for themselves (or any other gender that gives birth).

I agree about the csecs but thats the way of the world now (our world not the entire world).

In my era of birth givers… the only ones needing C sections has medical legit reasons, and the women I recall that did have that… took longer to recover, stayed in hospital longer than normal birth giving mums. There wasn’t a lot of women back then that had c sections and we always felt sorry for the few that did, and needing more cuts in different directions on the belly.

I honestly don’t think there’s anything loose after I had bubbies. I went back to being ship shape within the 6 months after.
The first 6 weeks after giving birth (apart from bleeding) was the episiotomy that made me walk like a duck until it healed.
One trick I did in our bush nursing hospital, they had this wet room.. with a stainless steel bowl, we add cold water… sit in it with stitches n all… and add ice. That helped a lot to stop inflammation down there.

Back in my era, the doctors would rather women avoided it and have natural births.
How times have changed!
I do recall how some mums would go to give birth naturally then something doesn’t work out and the mum is taken immediately into the op room to have a Caesar instead.

BTW…. Here’s another fact… breast feeding… I did with mine, 8-9 months each… when I was in bush nursing hospital after giving birth… and I immediately breastfed… when the check up came down there (no prolapse etc) it was mentioned how well I was doing because the breast feeding helped … to also bring the tummy down tighter too.

I wonder how many don’t want to breast feed nowadays?

One thing I learnt from my first birth when “pushing” is not to do it with face effort holding breath Grin

… I ended up with haemorrhaged looking red eyes!
So much for beautiful new mum theme!

So for second birth… no face effort and the first thing I did later was look in mirror if my eyes were okay! Grin

And yep, all clear

It's true c sections have lower risk for being sued.

They can book it in time and date which keeps the $$$$$ in positive side.

One English Doctor was shouted down for saying "Western Women need to toughen up in Birthing".

This goes with the fact that nearly every other culture practices giving birth with the woman on hands and knees or in any position where the baby isn't 'weighing down upon the spinal cord/column' and slowing 'against' gravity which results in more pain and complications.
Water Births have been a blessing but is still an ongoing learning curve.

So why do Western Women (USA/UK and any Australians who follow suit) still give birth on their backs? Is it along the lines with why the USA still practices inferior Imperial measurement>?
I say this having 'cleaned many a Delivery Suit' and a bit of 'talk research' with other staff.

So - thoughts?

My thoughts are these countries have some of the lowest mortality rates in childberth so what seems to be the problem.
