(Oh look, a butterfly!)
The answer is easy - it is a real old topic. They really did post a long time ago.
Only a mere 12 years ago… but still a relevant topic today… and something I learnt why so many are having C-sections.
Yet even longer time ago, over 43 years ago… I gave birth….
So this topic may be 12 years old… but it has still brought me up to speed…
I’m still quite stunned by the moving away from natural births.
My first born was a forceps delivery (a keilland rotation) because bubby was facing the wrong way.
Could barely walk for a week after!
I was wondering about this topic today… if I had a c-section, would it have been better for me and bubby, because I was in labour a long 19 hours.
All the pain was in my back, not the front.
Yeah… now I’m thinking… walk-in casually to have a Caesar … no labour pains or contractions, no forceps, no episiotomy…no stressed baby from long hours in labour… my mind boggles now!
I’m glad this topic was brought up.
I was also remembering this lovely midwife wanting me to take a vitamin and some water as I must’ve looked exhausted, not eating or drinking and in constant pain…
I honestly didn’t feel like eating… the sandwiches came in and I just couldn’t.
When I finally took her vitamin tablet… after 5 minutes I spewed
Midwife said “so much for the vitamins”
Now I’m usually one that won’t pass up lunch etc ever… but it was as if I was another person in that hospital ward
I’m certain some of the guys my era remember their children’s births.
Going back less than a decade my time… fathers were not even allowed to be present while their wife gave birth.
