Whitey, you appear more excited than Michael Jackson at a Wiggles concert.

I just dont get this whitney thing.

Sure it's sad for her friends and family but I resent being bombarded with whitney news as though it should mean something to me.

She had a good voice if you like well controlled though bland voices but what did she actually do?

Had some hits 20 years ago. But if you go and listen to them now you'd be hard pressed to say they were actually GOOD songs.

Album sales are NOT a good indicator of quality.

Wont be listened to in 20 years or so.

None of my friends own a whitney houston album. I fact I dont have any friends who are fans of hers.

Not that I ask peoples music tastes before I befriend them but the type of people who like that sort of music are not people I have a lot in common with.

Her music didnt speak to me or for me.

All this talk about "legend " this and "legend" that gets my goat.

It's the mutual masturbation clique of american "music professionals" who hand out the title of "legend" too liberally .  Just because they know them or have worked with them.

Houston was NOT a legend.  Just a footnote.

darkhall67 this is a memorial thread to a universally acclaimed artist of such greatness that the entertainment industry itself is stunned at her passing.  No criticism of Ms Houston or Michael Jackson of any kind is tolerated, now you will be compliant to this simple politically correct rule or be banned and you can find another thread to troll.  Only respectful non judgmental, non critical comments are allowed.
