Is there any proof that the government did it?

Well if you believe the reporters on the spot - then yes. Did you read the report?

It said the building got shelled but anyone could have done it.
At the end of the day his death is just going to be used as an excuse to kill thousands if not millions of innocent people when the west invades and bombs the crap out of the place, which is despicable.
I’m not saying I support the killing, not that we even know if its the government actually doing it.
But the fact is the west will kill a lot more than they ever could.
This stuff happens all the time and people don’t care, its only when the news tell people to get angry that they do. For example Israel has been bombing the Palestinians for how long now?-

If the protestors have acquired artillery already it doesn't appear as if they need help though why they'd target journalists they'd just supplied with a safe house is anybodies guess.

honestly if you've read the report provided and express doubt then you aren't being objective.

Not protesters, I wouldn’t be surprised if the west has a hand in it all.. Probably by hiring militia groups too cause unrest.
I doubt it would have been targeted, more like a randomly fired shell.
I’m being objective, I just don’t trust the media on issues like this because we have been lied to 99% of the time about similar issues such as Libya, Iraq etc..
And seeming as their is no evidence only opinion I take it as neither fact nor fiction.

Im comparing the media response to Syria as the same.
Seeming as I do not know the whole truth like you about Syria I cannot comment on the actual situtation other than that I doubt the west has changed its tune this time.

Oh I have no doubt that the west Has had a hand in causing the unrest. I know the West had a hand in the events leading to Tiananmin square in China, in the unrest in Tibet, in the Ukrainian orange revolution, in Georgia's rose revolution and probably throughout the Arab world. I'm not naive and I don't believe there's been a 'spontaneous revolution' in the history of the human race.

But you know if the CIA (etc etc) can play a game it's only by making a move and considering the oppositions response to that move. Bashar al-Assad came in with promises of reform. If he'd kept to that agenda he wouldn't be in his present difficulty. If he'd held elections at the first sign of these protests he wouldn't have a problem, He'd probably have won and even if he'd lost it would only be for three or four years. It was a reasonably popular government and Ba'athists were a big improvement on constant military coups.

That his response to demo's has been ruthless and hardline is entirely his responsibility. No sympathy for that. When a government goes to war against its own people it's completely lost the plot.

Hamas was formed in response to the first Intifada which started as a result of Israeli aggression.

Your nothing of the sort Annie, and I wasn't referring to you in any way shape or form.
Apologies if you thought otherwise.
But Hamas and their uncontrollable allies are something else again.
