Senior police officer caught up in U.K. media corruption probe

LONDON—A senior London police officer is being investigated as part of the corruption inquiry spawned by the British phone hacking scandal, Scotland Yard said Friday.

Police said the officer, whose name has not been released, is accused of making an “inappropriate disclosure of information” during the initial inquiry into phone hacking in 2006. The investigation, now discredited, found little evidence to support claims that journalists at the now-defunct News of the World tabloid illegally intercepted voicemails.

A police statement said the officer is not accused of accepting bribes and has not been suspended from duty or had his role restricted in any way.

“There is no evidence to suggest that any inappropriate payment of any sort was made to this officer,” the statement said.

Trial of former county commissioner prompts corruption questions

Government corruption disclosures have been the main attraction at the trial of former Cuyahoga County, Ohio, commissioner Jimmy Dimora.

During the second day of testimony in Dimora's racketeering trial, federal prosecutors devoted much of their attention to a Las Vegas junket that included Dimora, then-County Auditor Frank Russo and seven of their friends.

Trial testimony detailed some of the trip expenditures, including thousands of dollars of gambling chips, a $2,000 dinner, prostitutes, limousines, more than $6,000 for hotel rooms and charges, and first-class airplane tickets.

An FBI agent testified that a Berea, Ohio, construction contractor, hoping to land $45 million in county contracts, paid for the Vegas adventure.

Many of more than 20 wiretapped calls played in the courtroom dealt with planning for the trip. Surveillance video projected on high-definition screens in the courtroom depicted Dimora, the contractor and their friends playing high-stakes blackjack, with the contractor providing Dimora’s gambling chips.

The charges against Dimora are found in a 36-count, 148-page federal indictment that alleges that he used his county commissioner's office as the base to run a criminal enterprise. The indictment relies on the federal RICO law, which has become an important tool in attempts by federal prosecutors to remove corruption in local government.
 
The FBI’s extensive use of surveillance tools in Dimora’s trial may convince some that it is more difficult for government officials to engage in corruption in 2012, with increased media scrutiny, more federal oversight, 24/7 social media/web documentation and electronic surveillance.

One person who does not think government corruption has diminished is J. Bruce Maffeo, a veteran white-collar criminal defense attorney and former federal prosecutor. “I think as a general observation, both as a former federal prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer, that greed is a basic part of human nature and not likely to go significantly down.”

High-tech surveillance will not keep government officials from accepting bribes, Maffeo told Govpro. “Most people who engage in criminal activity are operating on the assumption that they aren’t going to get caught. The arsenal of weapons that are available to the government, such as consensual recordings and wiretaps, have been around for decades, and it doesn’t seem to have diminished the level of criminal behavior,” he said.

Maffeo now heads the White Collar Criminal Defense Practice for the New York law firm of  Cozen O’Connor. He has more than 30 years of experience practicing criminal law, starting out as a federal and state prosecutor before entering private practice in 1989.

Follow the money, says Mary Boyle, director of communications at Washington-based Common Cause. “The inordinate amount of money that we are seeing in politics certainly lends itself to a climate in which corruption is more likely to happen,” she says.

A change is needed in the way we pay for political campaigns, Boyle told Govpro. “From a Common Cause perspective, we think that we need a system of publicly funded, or clean, elections so that for people in government, their main concern isn’t what do their biggest contributors want, it’s what’s best for their constituents. Right now we have a government that is, at all levels, dependent and reliant on their major campaign contributors, and we see many instances where those people are put ahead of what’s good for the public good.”

Common Cause is a nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization that serves as a vehicle for citizens to make their voices heard in the political process and to hold their elected leaders accountable to the public interest.

The trial of Jimmy Dimora, which is taking place in U.S. District Court in Akron, Ohio, has begun its final phase. The defense rested its case last week.

REPORTING FROM LONDON -- Britain's bestselling tabloid launched a blistering attack on the police Monday for arresting five of its journalists over the weekend in an investigation into media corruption and unethical practices in the wake of the country's phone-hacking scandal.

Scotland Yard is treating reporters at Rupert Murdoch's The Sun "like members of an organized crime gang," complained Trevor Kavanagh, the paper's associate editor. He lashed out at what he called a police "witch hunt," warned that Britain was falling behind former Soviet bloc countries in terms of press freedom and criticized police raids on journalists' homes during which officers sifted through "intimate possessions, love letters and entirely private documents."

Ukraine's Tymoshenko refuses to work, wear prison uniform

THE jailed former Ukrainian prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko sent a letter to prison officials saying she refuses to work or wear the prison uniform while in detention
The RIA Novosti news agency reported Tymoshenko, 51, is serving a seven-year prison term following her conviction in October for abuse of power. The court found that she overreached her authority in signing a gas deal with Russia in 2009.
Inmates at the prison in Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, are required to wear blue prison robes while working at the jail's garment factory.
However, Tymoshenko argued in her letter that, "I refuse to comply with all prison regulations, including obligatory work, because I already have a job, I'm the chairman of the Batkyvshchina party. I also refuse to wear a prison robe."
Tymoshenko's supporters say the former leader is unable to work for health reasons, citing she is no longer able to walk because of back problems.

VATICAN CITY/MILAN, March 19 (Reuters) - JP Morgan Chase is closing the Vatican bank's account with an Italian branch of the U.S. banking giant because of concerns about a lack of transparency at the Holy See's financial institution, Italian newspapers reported.

The move is a blow to the Vatican's drive to have its bank included in Europe's "white list" of states that comply with international standards against tax fraud and money-laundering.

The bank, formally known as the Institute for Works of Religion (IOR), enacted major reforms last year in an attempt to get Europe's seal of approval and put behind it scandals that have included accusations of money laundering and fraud.

Italy's leading financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore reported at the weekend that JP Morgan Chase in Milan had told the IOR of the closing of its account in a letter on Feb. 15.

The letter said the IOR's account in Italy's business capital would gradually be phased out starting on March 16 and closed on March 30.

In Milan, JP Morgan Chase declined to comment and the Vatican also had no comment. It was not possible to contact IOR officials because Monday was a holiday in the Vatican.

Il Sole said JP Morgan Chase informed the IOR that the account was being closed because the bank's Milan branch felt the IOR had failed to provide sufficient information on money transfers.

The financial newspaper, which gave the number of the IOR account, said some 1.5 billion euros passed through it in about 18 months. It said the account was a "sweeping facility," meaning that it was emptied out at the end of each day with funds transferred to another IOR account in Germany.

The closure move by JP Morgan Chase, which was also reported by two leading general newspapers on Monday - Corriere della Sera and La Stampa - was a further blow to the IOR, whose image has been tarnished by a string of scandals.

In September, 2010, Italian investigators froze 23 million euros ($33 million) in funds in two Italian banks after opening an investigation into possible money-laundering.

The bank said it did nothing wrong and was just transferring funds between its own accounts. The money was released in June 2011 but Rome magistrates are continuing their probe.

"VATILEAKS" SCANDAL

The public image of the bank has also been harmed by the so-called "Vatileaks" scandal, in which highly sensitive documents, including letters to Pope Benedict, were published in Italian media.

Some of the leaked documents appear to show a conflict among top Vatican officials about just how transparent the bank should be about dealings that took place before it enacted its new laws.

The IOR, founded in 1942 by Pope Pius XII, handles financial activities for the Vatican, for orders of priests and nuns, and for other Roman Catholic religious institutions.

Last year, the Vatican adapted internal laws to comply with international standards on financial crime.

The 108-acre sovereign state surrounded by Rome now complies with the rules of the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

It also established an internal Financial Information Authority (FIA) along the lines of other countries and has committed to comply with international anti-money laundering standards and liaise with the group and law enforcement agencies.

The IOR was entangled in the collapse 30 years ago of Banco Ambrosiano, with its lurid allegations about money-laundering, freemasons, mafiosi and the mysterious death of Ambrosiano chairman Roberto Calvi - "God's banker".

The IOR then held a small stake in the Ambrosiano, at the time Italy's largest private bank and investigators alleged that it was partly responsible for the Ambrosiano's fraudulent bankruptcy.

Several investigations have failed to determine whether Calvi, who was found hanging under Blackfriars Bridge near London's financial district, killed himself or was murdered.

The IOR denied any role in the Ambrosiano collapse but paid $250 million to creditors in what it called a "goodwill gesture".

The London financial district is headed for further purges and the talk is that Lord Sassoon is headed for a big fall. The investigation may even extend to the UK Royal family, European CIA sources say.

In Japan, meanwhile, the status quo is expected to remain on hold until the March 31st end of the fiscal year because of overwhelming workloads in the bureaucracy and the parliament. After March 31st, there will be concrete negotiations taking place involving the Finance Ministry, Bank of Japan, Prime Minister’s office and Royal Household Agency aimed at setting up a new international economic planning agency.

The Japanese self-defense forces and bureaucracy are also planning a major purge of cabalist puppets in the Japanese Parliament, banks, corporations and media.

Overall, things are looking very good. However, unless we see these senior cabalists on world TV confessing to their crimes, we must not be complacent. Until this financial war is over, keep your powder dry and stay alert.

Sun Hung Kai Chairmen Arrested in Hong Kong



HONG KONG—Two billionaire brothers who are among the city's most powerful property tycoons and the city's former No. 2 official were arrested Thursday on suspicion of bribery in a case that gets to the heart of city's business culture and its economy.

The Kwok brothers and their families control Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd., 0016.HK -1.51% one of the world's biggest real-estate developers and a company that has itself been hit in the past by bitter family feuds and a brutal kidnapping. The company built some of the most famous towers in Hong Kong's skyline, including its three tallest buildings.

In a city where a small group of powerful organizations control real estate, transportation and communications, the sight of two tycoons walking into law-enforcement offices to answer questions in a corruption case was riveting.

"It's been a long time since such senior figures in the construction industry have been subject to such attention," said Steve Vickers, chairman of Asia investigations for FTI Consulting Inc.

Thomas Kwok, 60 years old, and Raymond Kwok, 58, were arrested Thursday by Hong Kong's antigraft agency, Sun Hung Kai said in a statement late in the day. The Independent Commission Against Corruption also arrested the city's former No. 2 official, Rafael Hui, also on suspicion of bribery and on suspicion of misconduct in public office, a person familiar with the situation said. Sun Hung Kai said the Independent Commission Against Corruption searched the company's offices on Thursday.

The two are co-chairmen of a real-estate empire with a stock market value of $37.25 billion and properties stretching across southern China, Shanghai and Beijing. The company's shares were halted from trading early Thursday, about 20 minutes after the market opened.

Our warriors pledged their lives to protect us. The world is not in a cartoon war between "good" and "evil", with everyone in government, corporations, media and military on the "dark" side.

Our brave and valiant soldiers have taken an oath: To protect the Constitution of the United States, and its people, against all enemies -- foreign AND domestic.

They did not pledge their lives -- their blood -- to keep a handful of sociopathic, genocidal bankers in control of the planet, its people and its resources.

We all have to live here. And if your superiors are systematically killing the planet, they are not superior.

IT'S TIME TO READ THE TEA LEAVES

Many, many top generals left active duty, since Bush I, because they realized what was happening -- but they certainly did not retire.

We all owe them a significant debt of gratitude.

Everything is now coming to a head -- very rapidly.

How could they stand by and do nothing while the entire planet itself -- and all life on it -- is being destroyed?

If a mother and child are being tortured to death in front of you, and you have the means to stop it, would you just stand there and watch?

Unless you are a sociopath, you would do something. And most people -- including our military personnel -- are not sociopaths. That number is only estimated to be 1 in 100 people, as we will see later on.



IT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE IN A STRICTLY 'CLOSED' SYSTEM

Nonetheless, the scope of the negative side is so vast that it seemed impossible to be defeated -- or even resisted.

If our planet was a strictly 'closed' system with no outside players and no higher spiritual forces involved, I would definitely have to agree that this plan is so well-thought out, so massive, systemic and vast that it would be nearly impossible to defeat.

However, Divine Intervention -- not a fantasy, but very real and very tangible assistance -- is insuring that our movement into true freedom and peace will occur... with the absolute minimum amount of damage possible.

Dozens of ancient cultures featured the same prophecies about the times we are now in. These prophecies all directed our attention to a 26,000-year cycle in the Earth's axis as being the key issue to study.

As I revealed in The Source Field Investigations, the Mayan Calendar, Egyptian astronomy, Greek astronomy and Hindu astronomy all triangulated on the period of 2012-2014 as the end of the cycle -- ushering in a Golden Age of peace and prosperity.

The next major milestone for Mass Arrests of the cabal has now arrived. Liens have now been filed against all twelve Federal Reserve banks. A Cease and Desist Order has also been filed -- to prevent the world's wealth from continuing to be stolen.


PRELUDE TO THE MASS ARRESTS

If you have been following this and certain other websites, then you have already heard the eyewitness testimony suggesting that thousands of conspirators in finance, media, defense, military, corporations and government are about to be arrested.

The mass resignations of CEOs, worldwide -- now numbering well over 450 in the last few months alone -- is a tangible sign that a major event is anticipated within the insider community.

Let's be clear, again, that this is NOT a coup, NOT martial law, and NOT a takeover of the government in any way.


IT ALREADY HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER

Our financial system, media complex, defense industry, corporate world and government has already been taken over.

It is not being run for the people and by the people. It has been systematically manipulated by a secretive, occult Cabal.

We cannot sit back and wait for their next attempt to generate mass chaos and destruction, and say "let's just leave everything the way it is," simply because this group has been so circumspect in revealing its true intentions.

This system threatens the welfare of everyone on Earth. In their plan to secure global control, they have repeatedly attempted to create mass casualties -- by a variety of different means -- and significantly reduce population.

Many, if not most of these efforts have been thwarted. Much of this is thanks to the will of the people; great heroes who take a stand. This includes countless hundreds of millions of people doing their best to spread the word -- and inform others.

More recently there appears to be Divine Intervention, for lack of a better term -- which is utterly destroying the Cabal's ability to do any further harm on a mass level.

That does not, in any way, reduce or eliminate our need to act. For now, we focus on the practical, tangible, on-the-ground steps we must take to free our planet from Financial Tyranny -- within this very opportune set of circumstances.


THE PLAN REQUIRES THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE

The plan for mass arrests appears to have been in development since the 1960s, as my interview with a new insider named Drake revealed.

Drake was asked by the "good guys" in the Pentagon to provide a public voice for a plan that, up until then, had almost entirely been disclosed by Benjamin Fulford, since 2007, and myself since November 2011 -- when I was personally briefed on it.

This plan requires the will of the people to succeed. Otherwise, our supporters within the military and the justice system do not have the legal precedent to perform such actions.

After many years, the public outrage is now sufficiently high that the will of the people has become more than sufficient to take these steps. Elements within our civilian and military sectors alike have had enough -- and are taking a stand.

US marshals from the Department of Justice and peace officers will carry out the arrests, with the assistance of military personnel -- in the event of any unforeseen disturbances.

By assisting a legal civilian operation in this manner, the military personnel are following their Oath of Enlistment -- to protect and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.


THIS WILL BE A POINT OF NO RETURN FOR THE CABAL

Again, to reiterate, the mass arrests will generate a situation from which there is no turning back for the Cabal.

Once the truth is exposed, there will be no further walls of secrecy for them to hide behind.

Every genuine fact you've ever read on the Internet about this problem will quickly become common knowledge. The "learning curve" is steep, but this is what everyone will be talking about.

The rules of logic are absolute in a case like this. Full disclosure of this group guarantees that no such actions will ever be tolerated again by the public. It is a full-stop Game Over for the cabal.

That is why they are so terrified right now.

There are plenty of headlines showing this -- such as Muppetgate, the public divorce of JP Morgan and the Vatican, the mass resignations of over 450 CEOs, and the passing of ridiculous and tyrannical executive orders.

Any outages of these critical services will be turned back on as soon as possible -- in no more than three days' time.

For the first five days after the arrests occur, every television station will have wall-to-wall coverage of information that makes our finest civilian investigations pale by comparison -- and leaves no margin of doubt.

Scores of DVDs' worth of documentaries -- some narrated by instantly-recognizable public figures -- will be airing, revealing the truth, with as much sensitivity as possible -- while also not pulling any punches.

I have been told that the most disturbing content will not be made available to minors. Anyone will be able to review it, but they will need to do so under supervision, such as via Skype.

Japan gives Myanmar $3.7bn loan waiver, cites reforms

Tokyo will waive Myanmar’s $3.7 billion debt and resume suspended assistance to the country, the Japanese government said on Saturday.
“Myanmar’s reforms are progressing with certainty,” said Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda at a joint press conference in Tokyo after meeting Myanmar President Thein Sein for talks.
“At a time when Myanmar’s democratisation is reaching a key stage, Japan is declaring to further support its efforts to reform and to continue bolstering assistance,” he said.

As a first step, Japan will waive 127.4 billion yen in debt that was first agreed in 2002 but was suspended while the country was in the grip of the military regime, an official statement said.

The remaining 176.1 billion yen, including interest and delay penalties, will be forgiven on condition that the process of democratisation continues apace.

“The two leaders shared the view that addressing Myanmar’s debt issues in a comprehensive way is important for Myanmar’s reengagement with the international community,” said the statement.

Thein Sein is the first Myanmar head of state in 28 years to visit Japan, as the former dictatorship is gradually welcomed back into the global community. The five-day visit ends Tuesday. Thein Sein was also visiting Tokyo for a Japan-Mekong summit.

Murdochs face UK court showdown over political ties

LONDON (Reuters) - Rupert Murdoch faces a two-day grilling at Britain's High Court next week by a judge investigating whether the political ties of the world's most powerful media tycoon created a company culture where illegal phone hacking could flourish.
The 81-year-old mogul and his son James are battling to defend their business in Britain after a year-long phone hacking scandal which has convulsed his media empire, embarrassed politicians and provoked a wave of public revulsion.
Murdoch will have to answer detailed questions on Wednesday and Thursday from lawyers led by a senior judge who was ordered by Prime Minister David Cameron to get to the bottom of ethical failures in Britain's often salacious press.
Murdoch was the first newspaper boss to visit Cameron after he took office in 2010 - entering via the back door - and politicians from all parties have lived in fear for decades of his press and what they might reveal about their personal lives.
His influence over prime ministers goes back decades: papers released this year showed that Murdoch held a secret meeting with then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1981 to clear his acquisition of the Times of London.
But in the past year Murdoch has turned against English politicians in general and against Cameron in particular after the prime minister failed to wave through his planned multi-billion-dollar acquisition of pay-TV operator BSkyB.
The Leveson Inquiry has gripped audiences around the world as evidence from celebrities, politicians and crime victims whose phones were hacked by Murdoch journalists has been shown live on the Internet.
The investigation is now turning its attention to the relationships between Britain's press and politicians.
In a debate in parliament as long ago as 2010, opposition lawmaker Tom Watson railed against the power of the Murdoch press, in particular Rebekah Brooks, an ex-News of the World editor then running Murdoch's British newspapers.
"The truth is that in this House we are all, in our own way, scared of the Rebekah Brookses of this world," said Watson, a dogged critic of the Murdochs and member of a parliamentary committee investigating the phone-hacking.
"They are untouchable, they laugh at the law, they sneer at parliament. They have the power to hurt us, and they do, with gusto and precision, with joy and criminality. Prime ministers quail before them, and that is how they like it."
Critics argue that staff at the News of the World felt above the law as their boss and owner regularly dined with the prime minister and senior police officers. Brooks, a close friend of both Murdochs, Cameron and previous prime ministers, resigned last July.
SENSATIONAL REVELATIONS
The News of the World, on which Murdoch founded his British media empire, was known for its sensational revelations about the private lives of public figures, helping it sell millions of copies every Sunday until Murdoch shut it down last July.
Some were traditional kiss-and-tell stories but the source of many others was mysterious until it emerged that private investigators hired by the tabloid had been hacking the phones of every echelon of British life, including the royal family.
Brooks often used information harvested in this way as "levers" to effectively blackmail the subjects instead of publishing the revelations, ex-News of the World journalists have told Reuters.
Reports that phone-hacking at the paper went beyond the one "rogue" journalist the company had long scapegoated go back as far as 2006, but police failed to pursue their investigations after that journalist was jailed in 2007.
The police probe was only revived a year ago after a relentless campaign by Britain's left-leaning Guardian, a rival of the Murdoch newspapers.
The political mood quickly swung against Murdoch after the Guardian revealed in July that the News of the World had hacked the phone of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler, emboldening opposition politicians and forcing Cameron to follow suit.
Cameron ordered the Leveson Inquiry and distanced himself further from his ex-spokesman Andy Coulson, a former News of the World editor whom he had previously defended.
A senior political pollster, who did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject, said Murdoch had been heavily damaged by the uproar in July.
"I think his influence today is almost nil. I think it has collapsed in the last nine months," he said. "But before July, the influence was immense."
Murdoch's News Corp media empire spans the Twentieth Century Fox movie studios, pay-TV operations around the world and newspapers including the Wall Street Journal.
In Britain, he owns the Times of London and its sister Sunday Times, The Sun tabloid that is now published seven days a week, and 39 percent of BSkyB, which is Britain's dominant pay-TV operator with an influential news channel.
James Murdoch is likely to be questioned about his contact with the government while it decided whether to approve the Sky takeover. The head of Sky News will appear before the inquiry on Monday.
The last time Murdoch was publicly called to account for the behavior of the News of the World was last July, when a parliamentary committee investigating the phone-hacking scandal summoned him and James Murdoch to answer questions.
Rupert Murdoch looked tired, arriving at parliament after meeting the parents of Dowler, the murdered schoolgirl. He quickly blurted out a prepared statement about that day's being the most humble of his life, but answered many questions in monosyllables, leaving James to elaborate.
However, the 81-year-old quickly recovered his fighting spirit and by last month was declaring war on "toffs and right wingers" on Twitter.
The parliamentary committee is due to publish its report next month on the results of its investigations, including whether it was lied to by Murdoch executives.
But its members are not professionals, unlike Judge Brian Leveson and his barristers, who have torn apart the arguments of newspaper men from chatshow host and ex-Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan to Express Newspapers owner Richard Desmond.
"I hope that there will be detailed questioning of the Murdochs in order to get to the truth of what the relationship was between politicians and the press. This is critical," said Evan Harris, an ex-MP who campaigned for a press inquiry.

US makes first arrest in BP oil spill case

THE US Justice Department said overnight it has filed the first criminal charges in the Deepwater Horizon disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, accusing a former BP engineer of destroying evidence.
Kurt Mix, of Katy, Texas, was arrested on two counts of obstruction of justice.
The Justice Department said the 50-year-old Mr Mix is accused of deleting a string of 200 text messages with a BP supervisor in October 2010 that involved internal BP information about how efforts to cap the well were failing.
BP officials did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment.
Justice Department officials said Mr Mix would make an initial appearance in federal court in Houston today.
Tomorrow, a federal judge in New Orleans is expected to consider a motion to approve a $US7.8 billion ($7.59 billion) civil settlement between BP and a committee of plaintiffs in a civil case.
The BP-leased rig Deepwater Horizon exploded the night of April 20, 2010, killing 11 workers and setting off the nation's worst offshore oil disaster. More than 200 million gallons (909,218,000 litres) of crude oil flowed out of the well off the Louisiana coast before it was capped.

The media mogul denied that he had an "aura" of influence and welcomed the opportunity at the Leveson Inquiry to put some "myths to bed" on his first day of giving evidence at the Royal Courts of Justice.
"I take a particular pride that we have never pushed our political interests in our newspapers," he said.
Counsel Robert Jay QC asked the News Corp chairman if his mere presence was enough to influence politicians and that he never had to directly ask politicians for what he wanted.
"I try very hard to set an example of ethical behaviour and I make clear I expect it," he said.
"Aura or charisma? I don't think so."
As Mr Murdoch provided his testimony, an aide for Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt stepped down.
Adviser Adam Smith paid the price following revelations from the inquiry yesterday that he provided regular, private briefings to News Corp on the proposed BSkyB takeover.
Mr Hunt was in charge of the bid until Mr Murdoch abandoned his plans in the dramatic fall-out from the phone-hacking scandal at the now-defunct News of the World.
Mr Murdoch, 81, was afforded more regular breaks at the inquiry because of his age while wife Wendi Deng sat in the public gallery to support him.
Mr Murdoch denied rumours that he was angry at Prime Minister David Cameron for setting up the wide-ranging inquiry.
Mr Murdoch has been criticised for years for having too much influence within both of Britain's major political parties.
Those concerns have been heightened by the close ties between Mr Cameron and controversial past and present Murdoch employees such as former spin doctor Andy Coulson and newspaper executive Rebekah Brooks.
The inquiry has shifted its focus towards the relationship between the press and politicians, with Mr Murdoch admitting that politicians or third parties for them "typically initiated" meetings with him.
"I go to an election every day. People can stop buying my newspapers any time and often do. It is only natural for politicians to reach out to editors and sometimes proprietors, if they are available, to explain what they are doing and hope that makes an impression and that gets through.
"I am only one of several. I am still only one of several, and I think we have seen that over the past few days."
He denounced phone-hacking and said that public figures had less rights to privacy than the average person.
"I don't believe in using hacking, in using private detectives or whatever, that's a lazy way of reporters not doing their job," he said.
"But I think it is fair when people have themselves held up as iconic figures or great actors that they be looked at.
"A lot of these people are very big in the lives of ordinary people, big television stars, film stars, and, of course, I must include politicians.
"If we are getting into the issue of privacy, people with public responsibilities, I would even include press proprietors in that, I don't think they are entitled to the same privacy as the ordinary man in the street.
"If we are going to have a transparent society, let's have everything out there."
He said News Corp shareholders would like him to get rid of all his newspapers but that kept hold of them because he loved them.

Rupert Murdoch to Return for 2nd Day of Questioning by London Inquiry

LONDON — After a day of testimony at a British judicial inquiry over his ties, friendships and fall-outs with British politicians, Rupert Murdoch was to return to the witness stand on Thursday to face what could be far tougher questions about the hacking scandal that has convulsed his media outpost here.

His appearance offers rare public scrutiny of Mr. Murdoch, usually shielded by his power, influence and wealth.

Since the scandal blossomed last summer, Mr. Murdoch, 81, has been forced to undertake once unthinkable measures, such as the closure of The News of the World Sunday tabloid and the abandonment of a $12 billion satellite television bid, as questions have deepened about the behavior and ethics of journalists, editors and managers working for him.

Last July, he and his son James Murdoch appeared side by side at a separate parliamentary inquiry into the scandal when the elder Mr. Murdoch was assailed by a protester who threw a foam pie in his face.

In addition to the investigations by Parliament and the current inquiry under Lord Justice Brian Leveson, the British police have launched three separate inquiries into hacking of voice mail, e-mail and the alleged bribery of police officers.

So far, the police say they have arrested and questioned 26 people in the investigation into corruption and bribery. Twenty others have been arrested in separate inquiries into phone and computer hacking by journalists at News International, the British newspaper subsidiary of News Corporation, Mr. Murdoch’s New York-based global conglomerate.

The scandal has sent deep shudders through British public life, with politicians of all stripes accused of currying favor with Mr. Murdoch in order to ensure the electoral endorsement and broader support of his newspapers, particularly the mass-circulation Sun tabloid.

Those arrested and bailed include Rebekah Brooks, once as a high-flying editor and confidante of Rupert Murdoch. She was chief executive of News International, before resigning over the scandal.

Another is Andy Coulson, a former editor of The News of the World who became Prime Minister David Cameron’s communications chief but left his job at the prime minister’s office as the scandal grew.

The Leveson inquiry has been pressing to find out how much Rupert and James Murdoch knew about the hacking and when they found out. After the newspaper’s royal reporter and a private investigator were jailed in early 2007 for hacking into the voice mail of members of the royal family, News International insisted that the practice was limited to what was termed a single “rogue reporter.”

But investigations have revealed that, in 2002, the voice mail of an abducted British school, Milly Dowler, girl was hacked after she was kidnapped. Since then, the police have said they have found thousands of potential cases.

Murdoch admits cover-up at News of the World

News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch has apologised for his handling of the News of the World phone hacking scandal.

Last year, Mr Murdoch shut down the tabloid after it emerged that reporters were hacking into the phones of celebrities and murder victims.

He was giving evidence before the UK's Leveson Inquiry at London's High Court, set up to investigate the activities of his media empire.

Mr Murdoch says hacking was covered up at News of the World, but he knows that as the publisher, the responsibility lies with him.

"There was no question in my mind that maybe even the editor, but certainly beyond that, someone took charge of a cover-up, which we were victim to and I regret that," he said.

"I think the senior executives were all misinformed and shielded from anything that was going on there."

He maintains that he believed the practice was limited to one rogue reporter until the extent of the phone hacking scandal was revealed.

The News of the World's royal editor and a private investigator were jailed in 2007 for phone hacking but the industrial scale of the practice at the paper did not emerge until a new police probe was launched in January 2011.

'I failed'

Pressed by the senior judge leading the inquiry, Brian Leveson, about why he did not take further action over allegations against one of his biggest-selling newspapers, Mr Murdoch added: "I also have to say that I failed."

The scandal fully erupted in July last year when it emerged the News of the World had hacked the mobile phone voicemail messages of Milly Dowler, a murdered British schoolgirl, sparking public outrage.

Mr Murdoch shut the Sunday tabloid when advertisers boycotted it and UK prime minister David Cameron set up the inquiry to probe the ethics of the press and its relations with politicians and police.

Asked on Thursday where the cover-up originated, the 81-year-old tycoon said it was "from within the News of the World."

"There were one or two very strong characters there who I think had been there many, many, many years and were friends of the journalists," he said.

"The person I'm thinking of was a friend of the journalists, a drinking pal and a clever lawyer ... this person forbade people to go and report to Mrs Brooks or to James."

Former News of the World editor Rebekah Brooks resigned as chief executive of Mr Murdoch's British newspaper wing when the hacking scandal erupted in July last year, while Mr Murdoch's son James was chairman.

Please recall the winner-takes-all media confrontation between the White Hats Reports #35, #38 and #39 and a well known International Hedge Fund wherein Dr. Herzog tried to use a namesake as a front, hired some high priced legal muscle and used the well known fund to shield himself and his fraudulent activities for the beneficial interest of Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush.

Well ... two weeks ago, Dr. Michael Herzog was arrested in Germany following police raids on his home and the homes and offices of several of his criminal associates.  As the circle widens, Dr. Herzog’s activities are creating major implications for all of the crooked political, banking and US Government parties that have assisted him. Herzog is now in deep, deep trouble and his associates will all follow in the same footsteps. How do we know this?  We now know who they are from the reams of notes, transaction receipts, pay orders with instruction sets, and transcripts of Herzog and his associates illicit acts.

As if all of the above wasn’t enough to swallow for one week, selective high level members of the House of Lords were informed last night that Josef Ackermann has been taken in for questioning on numerous issues instigated by Merkel, and that large scale operations are now planned with cross border cooperation, as the Cabal’s International Network gets publicly unraveled.  Greenspan is now the subject of ever more allegations and inquiries.  Tony Blair's Vatican accounts and his JP Morgan bagman role is now being assessed, as is his history of receiving Bush related funds.  The net is now closing in on many of them.

Ackermann was sidestepped for a key Bilderberg role.  Now serious criminal investigations will intensify the focus on both he and Deutsche Bank.  The Berlin Federal Prosecutors Office is focused on the trail of crime linked to Herzog and the immense scale of US Political Racketeering and CIA collusion which is emerging.

Herzog’s Berlin Court arrest is filed under Charge Case No. 83 Js 960/06. His arrested associates to date are Josef Birch, Case No. 83 Js 792 /05, address given as 34/36 King Edward Street, Darlaston, West Midlands, UK and Heinz Bosche, Case No. 47 Js 127/06.

We have information and belief that Birch supplied a false address and believe this is a Joseph Birch from Cornwall. In fact, it is believed to be Sir Joseph Birch, a well known Bush crony and associate, which we are now tracking, to help German Police and have him deported back to Germany. If this is the Joseph Birch we believe it may be, he comes with a long history of fraud, litigation and Bush connections.

In other significant news, it has been learned that Sarkozy needs to assist in the release of the Global Settlements to save his Presidency. Merkel needs it to save the Euro and EU model. If the EU goes, Germany's industrial base will collapse.

We are continuing to unravel the web of criminal conspiracy of the international Cabal. Germany's arrest of Herzog and associates is a major first step as it will lead investigators to the central, prominent cabal members in Europe and America. We have named just the first few. These are my notes taken during 16 hours of studying Drake's material.. References at end of post.

Drake calls it the Freedom Plan.

He says he was introduced to the Plan in the time-frame of 1979-80, when they sat him down and asked him to read a 5 inch-thick document.

The Plan originated during the Korean Conflict (1950-53) when high-ranking generals became aware that the UN, which was running the war, was funding/supporting both sides of the conflict, resulting in huge american casualties.

The current phase of the Plan now operative was initiated in October 2011, when a small group of people in Pennsylvania sent Notification documents to the civil division (non-UN side)at the Hague. This was soon followed by other groups of people posting their states' Notification of Sovereignty. [ Copies of said documents may be viewed at http://freedomreigns.us/States_Documents.html ]

People in Europe recognized the significance of these documents, and the Bank Resignations in Europe began. Since then, 14 Freedom Fighters have been killed.

At this time 80% - 90% of the Military are knowledgeable about, and in support of, the Plan. Less than 20% would stand in opposition to their fellows, and they know who they are.

The Militias have been called up, and are in Readiness status. [See Attachment at bottom of this post.]

Arrests will be done by local Constitutional Sheriffs backed by local militias and the Military as necessary.

Additionally, federal marshalls will also be present at some arrests in order to administer federal charges of high crime such as Treason.

Local sheriffs and other authorities who are unconstitutional -- that is, unfaithful to their Oath 'to protect and defend against all enemies foreign and domestic' -- will likewise be taken into custody and remanded to the fema camps, and they know who they are.

Those arrested will remain in fema camps until their cases are individually adjudicated.

Expect executions related to high crimes of treason, unspeakable crimes against children, prosecution of wars under false pretense, as well as other crimes of war.

The Constitutional Sheriffs group with Sheriff Richard Mack, and the Constitutional Posse group are now deciding who they are going to arrest on the state level.

A committee of 50 - 60 constitutional scholars are now reviewing all legal issues. Most of the legal/court system will be going away.

OPERATION GREEN LIGHT This is how we will know the Good Guys are in charge:

Drake, and others designated by him, will post a Heads Up about 24 hours beforehand.

To ALL,
I have requested/asked to contact everyone I know, now it is your turn.
Because of the many places that can be hit by the bad guys, I have been asked IF you all would like to help out?
IF so, there are several things that are needed.

1- Deploying scouts as best you can. These need to have radio com to someone who is listening. Yes, cell phones are ok, but if a cell tower goes, the phone is worthless...a radio is suggested.
Infrastructure is The target.
-With enough eyes, any funny business can be seen, reported, and the militia can be back up. Unless, it is obvious that those acting funny are a demo team. Then a quick deployment is critical. At the same time as you deploy, be sure the local Sheriff/law enforcement is notified AND that a group of you are enroute and will meet up with them or effect action.

2- You may be asked to secure certain places, power substations, etc.
You will be contacted, most likely by a field officer in this event. A local patrol or other standing military...

3- See if one of you can obtain a military band radio. This will allow you to know what is going on and respond accordingly...
I am hoping that this is a peaceful event, BUT I would expect everyone to be ready in case it is not.
I am posting this to all groups I have contact with.

Roadblocks targeted motorists who refused to display sticker

Warrantless checkpoints in the city of Liberty, Kentucky that were used by authorities to interrogate drivers who refused to display a sticker in their vehicle have been ruled unconstitutional by the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Residents who refused to buy the $10 dollar sticker were targeted after city officials ordered police to set up roadblocks. Those displaying the sticker were allowed through but refusniks were interrogated and had their vehicles searched, a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment.
After the state Court of Appeals disagreed with the Casey County Circuit Court and claimed the checkpoints to be justified, the Kentucky Supreme Court stepped in and unanimously ruled that the city had no reason to stop motorists.
“The checkpoint’s only purpose was to enforce a revenue-raising tax upon vehicles in the city,” the court ruled. “Thus, the checkpoint to enforce the sticker ordinance comports with none of the purposes which the United States Supreme Court has found to be important enough to override the individual liberty interests secured by the Fourth Amendment.”
The court also added that authorities chose the most invasive method to find residents who had refused to display the ticket. Given the fact that it was known those refusing to display the ticket were teachers, officers could instead have simply visited the school parking lot instead of setting up roadblocks.
“Through a series of decisions, the US Supreme Court has authorized suspicionless roadblocks for the purpose of finding illegal aliens up to 100 miles from the border, verifying drivers’ licenses and registrations, looking for drunk drivers and responding to a specific crime that took place on the same highway as the roadblock. A dozen states have disagreed with these practices and outlawed one or more of these types of roadblocks by citing their own state constitutions. The Kentucky Supreme Court found none of these exceptions applied in the case at hand,” reports TheNewspaper.com.

The federal government is also expanding its use of highway checkpoints under the auspices of the Transportation Security Administration.
In October last year we reported on how Tennessee’s Homeland Security Commissioner announced that a raft of new “security checkpoints” would be in place over the Halloween period to “keep roadways safe for trick-or-treaters”.
Earlier that same month it was announced that Transportation Security Administration officials would be manning highway checkpoints in Tennessee targeting truck drivers.
The DHS is also expanding checkpoints at border crossings that force drivers to pass through X-ray scanners similar to those in airports that fire radiation into the body and have been linked to cancer by numerous prestigious health authorities.

ADMIRALTY LAWS

Many people have attempted to tear apart the liens against the twelve Federal Reserve banks that were posted in our previous update.



I did not want to avoid this controversy. These new liens were filed within the Admiralty Law system, which is extremely complicated and mysterious.

Like other aspects of this story, the Admiralty Law system has been kept almost entirely secret from the public -- including law schools -- but the information is available if you know where to look.

Nonetheless, you can end up with a J.D. in law and have little or no knowledge of the Admiralty Laws used by the insiders.

ARREST WARRANTS

Though Winston covered a dazzling array of subjects in this interview, one thing that really stood out for me was the fact that these liens constitute legal arrest warrants for the Federal Reserve conspirators.

An arrest warrant is only as good as its enforcement. Winston directly admits that the "good guys" in the Pentagon, on behalf of an international alliance of 138 nations, are prepared to use these liens as legal grounds for mass arrests.

This is NOT intended to supplant or take over existing elected governments. If this Cabal were not so heavily woven into our society, these mass arrests would be much simpler to perform.



THE EVIDENCE KEEPS MOUNTING

The evidence keeps mounting that this is real. Winston Shrout is only the most recent voice adding to the story.

All that being said, most people probably will not take the time to delve into this enough to really understand it. Many commenters are saying they are getting nowhere with their family and friends when they try to explain this.

The best thing to do, if they are at all interested, is encourage people to read Financial Tyranny as a starting-point.

The information in it is vast, but if they really want to know, it's all been documented for them.
