Go to Cabramatta, Fairfield, Yagoona, Bankstown Burwood, Lakemba, Hurstville, Liverpool and you have to spot an Aussie. . .

The same goes in the trains. I've sat in carriages where I was the only Caucasian ears deafened by foreign languages.

If we have so few of the coloured, they must cluster in the city streets by day therefore, must either work at night or live off our generous Welfare.

I would have thought that it was a bit less than 92%. How exactly did the people who arrived at this figure (is it the Australian Bureau of Sadistics?) define "white" which, after all is just a skin colour? It would be interesting to know which ethnic groups are considered to be "white".

Multiculturalism is bad, and is a proven failure in many countries of the world. Australia is but one example.

Yes, the mixing of Welsh, Scots, Logres and Irish with the Saxons has not been a great success.... Long live the Pendragon:o Roll Eyes

The Brits and Irish are a Mediterranean people, but a minority migrated from Northern & Eastern Europe thats quite a diversity of cultures to just put under one banner of "White". "White" also tells you nothing about a people, culture, tradition, language ancestors ect where as terms such as Britannia, Welsh (Cymru), Irish, Scots, Caledonia Logere, England, Devon, Cornwall are all words that tell stories that a word like "White" may wish to hide...

In fact right wing ultra conservative groups called them the black people of Europe and claimed they would ruin the country so I hope matty isn't including them and their descendants in the 92%.

We don't want to become a republic, we're happy to wave the British flag.

White is almost bred out, white women prefer black men and vice versa, black will be the new favourite colour of choice.

What will people look like in the future?

Maybe those that migrated there before the Celts in 5,000 BC were Mediterranean (can you supply evidence of this?), but the majority of migrants aren't. The Anglos, Saxons, and Jutes come from what is now Denmark and the northern parts of Germany. Even the other invaders weren't Mediterranean: Vikings, Celts, and Normans (French).
The British, mostly, are a Germanic people.

Insight tonight SBS 7.30

This week Insight explores racism from a different perspective.

Discussions about prejudice are often framed in terms of whites against non-whites. In a candid and frank debate, Insight lifts a lid on racism between different minority groups in Australia and prejudices people have against their own race - a topic rarely covered in the media.

The program also looks at the psychology of racism – whether humans are all biologically hard-wired to feel threatened by people who look different to them, and are genetically predisposed to want to stick to our own “tribe.”

Australia is due to launch its first ever National Anti-Racism Strategy this year. Insight will ask whether it's the right approach, and whether it has any chance of transcending the impulses that some experts believe we're all born with.

The Implicit Association Test (IAT) was developed by Harvard researchers to measure subconscious prejudice.

Find out how you subconsciously feel by taking the test here.

Members of the Insight audience took the test. Of those who completed it, almost 80% had a negative association with indigenous Australians.
