Fair enough. But a cyclist on a double line road with single-lane makes cars either wait while he pedals s-l-owly to the passing dotted lines, or overtake. I paid a big fine for crossing double lines (where do those police cars come from?) and it is of course dangerous for all if a car is across the line in a twisting road.

And there are hundreds who do so. When confronted by a cyclist on a pedestrian crossing, I like to miss them by as little as possible.

It means slowing to .00405 km/hour and then having to get back to speed to pass safely before the next oncoming car on a dangerous bend.
