You would think Craig Thomson would be keen to do anything and everything to clear his name

Mr Thomson stressed that the investigation by NSW police did not involve the arm of the union he was directly involved in or the allegations involving himself.

"We asked them for areas they wanted to ask me about and they declined to do so. On that basis we declined to talk to them," Mr Thomson said last night.

"I haven't been involved in the HSU East branch since 2002. I declined on legal advice.

"What I would say is that it is my very strong view that Fair Work Australia should immediately give their report to the Victoria Police."

( ... I don't see a PROBLEM, there
Bear in mind - both the NSW and Victoria Police have already COMPLETED their investigations into the so called "Thomson Affair")

Im more amazed how long the ALP have let this issue hang over their heads, almost in a hope that it will blow over.

I honestly expected them to have somone come out from the HSU and take the fall for this already.

This is a bad smell the ALP dont need over them at the moment, there lack of interest in clearing this has been amazing.

If the ALP had gotten involved there would be cries of a cover up ... if they don't they are seen to show no interest .... political parties should stay out of any investigation ... be it of an MP or otherwise .... there is a seperation of powers in our system for a reason ....

all valid questions that the govt refuses to answer

like I have said a few times... let this be a liberal govt and you would be squawking like stuck pigs..

The Unions and labor are doing a sterling job of protecting their Thomson ticket which will allow them to continue destroying Australia with Miss Gillard's FABIAN destructive delusions and Senatrix Milne's luney green dreems of Australia as an impoverished primitive agrarian Communist country.

MP Craig Thomson won't talk to cops over HSU scandal

by: Samantha Maiden From: The Sunday Telegraph April 15, 2012 12:00AM

Craig Thomson has declined to talk to the police over the HSU scandal. LABOR MP Craig Thomson has confirmed he has refused to be interviewed by the NSW Police Strike Force Carnarvon over allegations of corruption at the HSU East branch.

The besieged former union official - accused of misusing union credit cards to visit prostitutes and to withdraw $100,000 over a five year period - told The Sunday Telegraph last night that he had made the decision on legal advice.

Mr Thomson, who has repeatedly denied using union funds to visit prostitutes, stressed that the investigation by NSW police did not involve the arm of the union he was directly involved in or the allegations involving himself.

He said he may agree to be interviewed by Strike Force Carnarvon if his lawyers reached agreement with NSW Police.

Mr Thomson's refusal to co-operate with NSW Police follows criticisms of Fair Work Australia for failing to make documents available to police on legal grounds. He stressed he was co-operating with Victoria Police.

Strike Force Carnavon in NSW is investigating claims of corruption in the Victorian and NSW branches of HSU East, including claims of secret commissions, abuse of credit cards and the awarding of lucrative contracts to family companies.

New HSU scandal

Meanwhile, Union whistleblower Kathy Jackson also revealed yesterday her ex-husband Jeff Jackson is still driving a Health Services Union car nearly three years after he left the troubled union. She told The Sunday Telegraph the arrangement was above board and she had no involvement with it.

Enemies of union whistleblower have raised the allegations to damage Ms Jackson, but she told the Sunday Herald Sun the severance arrangements of her estranged husband were all above board, but a matter for him. She had no involvement with the arrangement.

"Part of the deal with (HSU east secretary) Michael Williamson was that he held on to this car," Ms Jackson said yesterday.

"They know he's got that car. They organized it until his long service leave is paid out. They kept on paying a fuel card. That's my understanding."

Mr Jackson told the Sunday Telegraph that after he left the union in 2009 and federal court order stipulated he be paid until his contract ended in 2010. After that he reached an agreement with HSU East to pay out his remaining lump sum leave entitlements over an 18 month period effectively remaining on the payroll for nearly three years after he left the office.

"The lease of the vehicle was part of the salary package," Mr Jackson told the Sunday Herald Sun.

"That expires this month. The car will be returned to the union."

The former union leader also accused Labor MP Craig Thomson of trying to suggest he had impersonated him in a brothel, suggesting escort service charges were made by Mr Jackson and that he had paid $15,000 back to the union.

"That had nothing to do with credit cards or hookers or anything," he said. "There was no doubt he was trying to deflect allegations to me. I absolutely deny the misuse of any credit cards."

Fresh details have also emerged about the Jackson faction links of Victorian Senator David Feeney, one of a group of MPs along with Workplace Relations Minister Bill Shorten, part of a group known as the faceless men who installed Julia Gillard.

Senator Feeney once bought a house in Victoria from the Jacksons, a property deal that was witnessed on sale documents by Mr Shorten’s then wife Debbie Beale.

The Victorian MP also confessed his "mistake" as a young ALP apparatchik posting out a dirt sheet for the now infamous Health Services Union.

In 1997, a young Feeney was involved in the distribution of a union "**** sheet" for Mr Jackson that targeted another union leader Charlie Nader.

"Bottom line: David Feeney dropped off at the Australia Post distribution centre one of the mail outs. And signed off for it," Senator Feeney told the Sunday Herald Sun.

Asked whether this was stupid he replied: "It's the kind of mistake 26 year olds make."

As senior Labor figures increasingly distance themselves the woman who has pursued allegations Labor MP Craig Thomson used union credit cards to visit prostitutes, Senator Feeney has described Ms Jackson as "a person of integrity."

"Kathy's strategy in this fight has always been in run into the light. Because her enemies are only strong in the shadows," Senator Feeney said.

Have your say

When are the public going to see what their tax dollars have paid for - The Fair Work Aust Report? and why wouldn't you cooperate with the police unless you had something to hide?

How Much Longer Posted at 12:47 PM April 15, 2012
If he has nothing to hide he would want to clear his name. How much longer can Gillard continue to support this man who does not want to defend himself when he has the opportunity? It is insulting to all decent law biding Australians that this man sits in Parliament. He can prove to the Australian people by talking to the police that his is innocent of all charges as he claims.

If it were you or I we would have been arrested by now but because of the Thomson link with Gillard and the Labor party we seem to have a law for us and a law for them.

Labor links at FWA have ensured that this inquiry has been dragged out for as long as possible which initially suited Gillard and Labor as it ensured that we would not have a bi-election in Thomson's seat of Dobell.

But now the stench of this affair is sticking to the entire union movement and the Labor Party and the stench will not go away until such times as Thomson has been charged and found either guilty or not guilty.

Because of her history no one actually believes that Gillard does not know the full details of this case and as such she once again destroys what little trust or faith that we have in the political system by continuing to support Thomson and Fair Work Australia at the expense of the HSU members. Disgraceful.

If the police have any evidence it is not optinal to talk to them.

It looks like they have nothing more than the other investigations found -  a fishing expedition maybe.

Yeah, right. His phone, credit card and face were used. If you believe him, they were used (stolen) by someone else and then miraculously returned! Maybe it was the Israeli spies getting up to no good again? Although I think they tend to stick with passport fraud, not credit card fraud.  Cheesy
