Aussies from my honest opinion are a little more Socialist than I would like.

Higher taxes, more unionised, more welfare driven, higher cost of living....

Just doesn't sit that well with me.

Its not very socialist. It used to be but it isnt now. That word is being overused.

SOB

I am not calling Australia an out and out USSR, by any means.
But what I am used to in the UK and USA, it is a lot more socialist in its nature and outlook.

The higher cost of living you have compared to what I am used to is because you have a more "socialist" outlook on welfare and wages for minimum wage workers.

It's not as socialist as mainland Europe but a fair bit more than my experience living in UK and USA.
Obviously UK is more 'socialist' than the USA as well but Australia is more to the "Left" than both.

Time to move away from Mt Lawley?

I was actually picturing East Perth, but yes Mt lawley more than fits the bill.  Having Edith Cowan indoctrination centre university right there might have a little something to do with that.

City-dwellers for sure.  At least rural australians generally are a bit more 'real'.  Hipsters will say it's because they're backward hicks, I say it's because they're more insulated from the brainwashing/propaganda that's led to this country becoming a joke on the world stage.  Not that we ever were major players politically, but the tough, intrepid pioneer spirit that was once associated with australians has been replaced by pissweak, androgynous, tofu-munching softcocks.

That's right! People will respect us so much more if we carry on following the brainwashing propaganda that led a generation to Gallipoli. You think?

Australia has the strongest economy in the Western World. Everybody larfs at us? Actually everybody is jealous of us, not only because we're lucky, but also because we have a very efficient welfare system. America pays more per head on welfare and yet Americans have none of the benefits of Medicare.

You shouldn't be knocking Australia, you should be proud of its achievements. The brain drain is in reverse, Americans want to become Australians.

Tofu is an abomination - real people with a respect for food don't eat that shyte.

Ma Po Tofu is a nice Chinese dish. Mostly tofu and ground pork. Very HOT, and cooked traditionally, can have way too much salt. If I use an actual Ma Po bottled sauce, I dilute the salt by adding a little low salt chicken stock and some hot bean paste. Careful with that hot bean paste, its made of nuclear waste...

The fact that you cannot even conceptualise a society that isn't fabricated, socially engineered and throughly brainwashed betrays your totalitarian nature.  But I concede you'd know much more about the propaganda that led to gallipoli, having been alive at the time.

Can't one be proud of where we've come from, yet dissatisfied with where we're heading?

A cheap shot on Gallipolli, you really are a sad case Grey.

Those brave men were a thousand times the man you are. I'm trying not to make personal insults, but when you start knocking the vets of Gallipolli you will ALWAYS get a rise from me.

The pioneers, drovers and stockmen rode horses. Now they hang on to motorbikes with training wheels and a seat for the dog.  Dogs are being feminised.
