I would actually consider myself to be on the right side of the political divide, and whenever I try to discuss something with someone on the left, they just become childish, immature and start to name-call. It's pathetic.

Well both sides do it because we all get dragged into it from one or the other.

What you will find is that the left have at their core, a bit like humans know they can get on their feet or can hold a spoon, is that they can call a righty racist, sexist or homophobe.

My theory is that it is inbred, like their family tree's and is hard coded into their dna.

Good point. I do tend to see that those on the left do tend to be more bigoted, though; ie, they can't handle a different opinion. It's not exclusive to the left, of course, but it's more noticeable/commonplace, in my opinion.

Yes, the right might be bigoted in the sense of saying stupid, idiot or illogical, but the left are more deceitful in saying racist, sexist or homophobes.

Though the left do say the former, as well. Just look at skippy.

It certainly does. I often find it impossible to have a mature debate with a lefty. 2 minutes in, and they're insulting you and/or name-calling.

The lecturer said that there were some Full Fee Paying Overseas students but probably 95% were Australian

Looking around at the predominantly Asian audience (it was Economics @ Sydney Uni) he said "No how many REAL Australians"

I thought this was pretty racist.

I personally think Plibersek's office has insulted her own electorate that they need to sink to this kind of level.

It was pointed out at the last election in a big way people are sick of the negative advertising that was going on, and the political parties just havent got the message.

It saddens me that a sitting member in a governing party needs to focus their attention to an opposition. She should be focusing her advertising on what she has done for her electorate, not Tony Abbott.
