This petition of the citizens of Dobell and the wider Australian community draws to the attention of the house that we the undersigned are disgusted and outraged at the recent findings of the investigation by Fair Work Australia into Mr. Craig Thomson. We believe he is not a fit and proper person to be our Federal Member.

We therefore ask the House to respectfully request that Mr. Craig Thomson, Member for Dobell, resign from Parliament immediately.

Should Craig Thomson Resign?

Craig Thomson the member for Dobell is unfit to represent his electorate.

The people of Dobell and the people of Australia have had enough of the constant lies from Mr. Thomson and his contempt for the Australian people.

Mr. Thomson has been investigated by Fair Work Australia for the past 3 years in relation the misuse of Union Funds costing the Australian tax payer millions.

Fair Work Australia recently handed down a 1100 page report finding that in fact Mr. Thomson did misuse funds from the Health Services Union of which at the time he was the National Secretary. The 3 year investigation by Fair Work Australia into the Health Services Union founded that Mr. Thomson rorted $500,000 of funds from HSU members. He used the money for prostitutes, unaccounted-for cash advances, fine dining and hotels, and to promote his own 2007 election campaign for the New South Wales Central Coast seat of Dobell.

These are no longer allegations against Mr. Thomson, they are findings.

There are even claims by senior Labor powerbrokers that Mr. Thomson’s $200,000 legal bill was paid by the party in order to stop Mr. Thomson declaring bankruptcy and allowing the Labor Government to cling to power.

Mr. Thomson has now been stood down from the Labor Party by the Prime Minister Julia Gillard. Well if he is not good enough for the Prime Minister and the Labor Party then why should the people of Dobell and the wider community have him as their representative?

We deserve better representation than this.

We need the Federal Parliament to call on Mr. Thomson to resign from Federal Parliament immediately.

Due to the findings in the FWA investigation, that revealed his misuse of over half a million dollars of union funds for his personal benefit including election campaigning, cash advances and prostitutes.

We believe that Mr. Thomson is no longer a fit and proper person to be the Member for Dobell and we ask the Federal Parliament to request that he resign immediately.

Yes what a shame thomson was not forgotten after 3.5 years.

The investigation and this petition would never have happened.

There is 8,000 people have sign the petition how many of them live in the seat of Dobell/

They are the only people that count no one else that sign the petition

Why should Thomson resign if Heffernan and Fisher are still in parliament?

a petition no matter how pathetic.. to get rid of this blight on our parliament..

I am finding it hard to come to grips with this to be honest..

its almost un Australian...

a long time ago he should have been suspended.. it has now gone beyond that.

he has had his 5 min in parliament to plead his case... I am still waiting on the evidence to be produced..

we now deserve to hear the full story and to know exactly what this man is being investigated for and what evidence there is and why the hell he hasnt been charged by now?????


are th police now going through what FWA ahave already investigated???

I dont believe this all rests on hookers..

what pollies do or dont do in the spare time is for them and their families to worry about..

first of all they would all have had to be charged with the same offence.

ru saying that gillard should be tried because she LIED.. that too is an offence.
