I am not from NSW, can someone please enlighten me - what are O'Farrell's lies? Like I have stated before, Gillard's lie is not bad at all. She has clearly become aware, thanks in most part to the Greens, that climate change is real, and we need to take positive action on it. She may have lied, but it's for our own good, and the good of the nation. I am confident that most Australians will come to see that, and Labor will be elected next election. Hopefully we will have another Labor/Green government. That would be great, and a positive step forward for Australia.
This was in one of Sydney papers just after the NSW election
Quote:The Australia Democrats tradition of “Keeping the bastard honest.” So how about a thread of “Keeping Barry honest”
Here are 12 things that Barry O’Farrell and the Liberal Party promise before the election. Let mark off any that they back-down on, do back flips on, retreats on because of no money left by Labor, flip-flops or wimp out on for any other reason.
1) “We are not closing schools, hospital or planning massive privatisation or job cuts.”
2) “We will not cut the number of public holidays in NSW.”
3) “We don’t have a default position that says privatisation is in our blood.”
4) “There are no plans to hire Peter Costello, Gary Stugess or Ken Baxter.”
5) 100,000 jobs will be “targeted” for creation under Jobs Action Plan.
6) Work on the north-west rail line will begin in the first term.
7) As the economy improves there will be a need for “more, not less” public sector jobs to fix NSW.
8) Family members of politicians will not be hire to work in ministerial offices.
9) The coalition will depoliticise appointments to the senior ranks of the public service.
10) Train fares will be cut by more then $100 a year.
11) The old politics of smear and fear and untruths is in the past.
12) No offshore outsourcing of public sector jobs or services.
