To be fair though smithy, I think we are pissing in the wind on the FX rate scenario.

The GDP position has been 0.3% and 0.3% for the last two successive quarters.

It's affected a lot more so by the debt position of Europe and the commodity markets than FX movement.

It is still WAY to high for our exporters, smiffy is right.

I don't disagree.
However it does point out as I mentioned the underlying issues affecting Australia are there and also that there are a lot of conditions which makes the picture not this perfect land some of those on here, who know little better, would have you believe.

Its fallen over the last 3 months.
But its semantics anyway.
The Aussie economy is strong but to some it could always be stronger under a coalition government.

Mine is not a biased party-specific argument.

Merely dealing in economic facts and forward projection analyses.

Buzz, despite your attempts to believe you are as well educated as I am - we both know that in Finance matters there is about 15 football pitches in distance between your knowledge and mine.

None of the facts I have stated are incorrect.

The shell refinery that announced its closure 6 months ago then again last night.

And 20 years ago NSW/Vic contributed 80%
I fail too see the relevance.
We aren't talking state we are talking National, or are you implying that it's because WA has a Lib Gov?
A Lib Gov that has raised royalties BTW, isn't that increasing taxes on mining companies?
Isn't that a no no?

Then you need to see where most of the voters are living

Perth has 1.74 Million people

So if only 1.74M people are doing well then what happens to the other 20+ million?
