The trends are years apart as I have explained. Perfectly in line with the pacific solution apart from the lag after the pacific solution stopped.

Lag?? 2003-2004 with PS in full swing and numbers were falling in both OECD and Australia. Then 2006-2007 the numbers were both rising, still with PS in full swing.

But more to the point, WHY? Why was there any connection in the OECD with the Pacific Solution?

Because the Pacific Solution worked

*tsk* Another one who doesn't understand the question.

OK macca... the OECD currently comprises these countries:
  • Australia
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • Chile
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Estonia
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Iceland
  • Ireland
  • Israel
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Luxembourg
  • Mexico
  • Netherlands
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Slovak Republic
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey
  • United Kingdom
  • United States

Can you explain how the Pacific Solution reduced numbers of asylum seekers in Slovenia for instance? Or maybe that's a hard one. Maybe something closer at hand - how did Australia's Pacific Solution reduce the numbers of asylum seekers lobbing up in New Zealand?

Can you explain how labor have the OECD and Australian numbers equal at the end of the graph and they were never while the PS was in place.

We had already fallen sharply a year earlier as I stated and as the graph states.

The only connection to OECD is seeing labor bring Australia and the OECD equal as shown on the end of the graph.

A year earlier than what? 2003? In 2002 numbers were falling across both OECD and Australia.

You cant lie on this one. For one, you provided the graph, 2nd it is a graph.

Look at the year we dropped sharply. Then look at the year the OECD started dropping sharper than previously. We were a full year ahead of them when, oops, the PS started.

EXACTLY WHICH FECKIN' YEAR ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!??

"The previous year" tells me nothing.

So I take it lolly and longliar bow out... no explanations from them either huh?

So NOBODY can explain how the Pacific Solution induced a reduction in asylum seeker numbers across the OECD?

Then there's no option but to accept the contrary alternative - that the Pacific Solution reduction was as a result of falling numbers across the OECD. That it wasn't the PS driving the falling numbers but instead the falling numbers seen in the PS was driven by the OECD fall.

In other words, the Pacific Solution DID NOT "stop the boats".

because - you bloody idiot - the pacific solution was about BOATS. how many refugees do you think went my boat to slovenia?

When you can make a live vs like argument then go for it but this is absurdly stupid. Next thing you will be back liek your previous ID where you claimed there was no govt debt. That's your next stop isnt it ernie?

Dunno who ernie is and I certainly don't recall saying anything about government debt. I've only ever had the one id here on OzPol y'see longfool.

And are you sooo dim that you can't understand that the graph shows ALL refugees, whether by boat, plane, walked across the border, you name it, jumped a motorbike over the fence, you name it.

For Australia and OECD.

So you CAN compare them.

And the numbers fell across both. During the years of the Pacific Solution. So fire up that cockroach turd of a brain and see if you can explain why the Pacific Solution did that. Because YOU are the one saying that the Pacific Solution reduced numbers of asylum seekers, not me.

not when the topic is BOAT PEOPLE. and it is about BOAT PEOPLE. it is not about refuguess it is about BOAT PEOPLE. Now why dont you toddle off and come back with a graph on the comparison of OECD BOAT PEOPLE and the discusison can resume. in the meant time the fact that you dont understand that teh debate is about BOAT PEOPLE does nothing but strengthen the belif that youare an idiot.

I have already stated the years and the lag. Go look.

You can even look at the graph yourself. After all, you supplied it. After you look at it, ask yourself what year did the PS start. What year did we drop sharply and what year did the OECD start to drop sharper. If you cant see, take the labor glasses off because you are starting to sound like green_loser.

Longw is right though. The graph is not about boats floating around the oceans.

Really? Boat people are not refugees? When did you pluck that little fact from your bum?

Are you really going to try to hinge your whole debate on this drivel longfool or will you ask someone with intelligence to find a better one for you?

The very fact Gillard had the guts to show up and Abbott didn't pretty much says it all at this point, and I'm no fan of Gillards.
