THE staffer suing Peter Slipper knew that a sex tape involving Mr Slipper with a junior male staffer allegedly existed before he began working with him.
In an affidavit released yesterday and sworn by James Ashby on June 13, Mr Ashby said he spoke to Judi McArdle - wife of Queensland Water Minister Mark McArdle - before he started working for Mr Slipper.
He said Mrs McArdle told him of ''rumour and innuendo'' that Mr Slipper had allegedly had a relationship with another male staff member, Tim Knapp.
''She said there's been people that have seen them kissing in the car park out back of the old office and that had been seen by ABC staff that were in the same building,'' the affidavit says.
''She said, there was a video, which I do believe exists, of a sexual nature between Tim and Peter and she said it was seen by one of the staff members in the office after she borrowed a video camera from work and the story goes that she was checking what she'd filmed and come across what had been filmed previously on that camera.
''Judi didn't elaborate but she said it involved both Tim and Peter on a bed.''
Mr Ashby says Mr Slipper's conduct towards him ''f---ed with my head'' and he ''started questioning why I was hired in the first place''.
On Brisbane radio yesterday, Mark McArdle refused five times to answer a direct question as to whether he had ever advised Mr Ashby. Mr McArdle has been accused of providing Mr Ashby with informal legal advice before he launched his action against Mr Slipper.
Other affidavits released yesterday by Justice Steven Rares included four subpoena from Mr Slipper relating to his staffer Karen Doane, former Liberal minister Mal Brough, News Limited journalist Steve Lewis and Mr Ashby's public relations agent, Anthony McClennan. The four individuals have been ordered to produce all documents showing communications between them from February 1 to April 27, 2012.
Mr Ashby met Mr Brough - who is seeking preselection for Mr Slipper's Sunshine Coast seat of Fisher - three times before he lodged his action.
