No thanks mate.

This is what I am talking about.....

5.3L V8 engine - huge room and does everything I want....

you talk about economics especially when it comes to sourcing cheap labour in china so I ask you again what is the economics in driving a fossil fool vehicle of this size through hours of peak hour stop start traffic where most of the fuel just gets thrown out of the tail pipe ??

I am never in hours of peak traffic.
My journey to work is 30 mins and 30 mins back on a 8 lane freeway.

Petrol is less than $1 per liter.

I can afford a large vehicle with a big engine - as can most of America.

There are much worse ways of spending money, it is reasonably economical for me.
Petrol is cheap in America.

what has your irrelevant situation got to do with people who live in Australian cities ?? It is just meaningless drivel !!

Deal with the facts which are that Australian cities are conjested and petrol is not getting cheaper therefore the solution to the problem is NOT to go and live in mexico it is to look for a better automotive technology that solves these technical issues.

Cool - lets hope we can get a car as I've said.

I am waiting for a mass produced reliable all electric vehicle for under $20,000.
I want a battery with a 10 year life cycle.
I'll hold on to my present car till I can buy one.
I am expecting the Chinese to make & sell such a vehicle first.

I certainly don't expect Ford or Holden to come up
with the goodies anytime soon.
To me the Aussie companies have already lost the race -
they are relics from the past & should be discarded.

like you said the chinese will make them and ship them here cheap because they have no allegiance to the oil industry and/or existing oil dependent technology. As usual Australia will have missed out on producing an all australian designed electric car because the government was too busy giving away our money to foreign car corporations that couldn't give a sh.t about this country Sad

Yes Nail,
You can bet your bottom dollar that the Chinese are working night & day
on a cheap reliable electric car for mass production.
This will be a revolution that will change the whole world
& leave us in Western countries in the dust.
Fancy not being dependent on oil for the first time in modern history!

Look up to the Chinese.

Ive never seen two homo's move the goal posts on a discussion as much as Bobby and Nail in this thread.

The funny thing is Quantum has presented excellent discussion points, yet all Bobby and Nail have done has argued even when he was agreeing with them.

Its a sad day when people like Quantum who have presented detailed and excellent points leave a thread because two butt buddies cant actually focus on a single topic at a time.

How can Verge get away with such offensive false remarks?

Where are the moderators?

He said that quantum presented detail and excellent points. So detailed that he also included the door rubbers and paint in the regular service regime Cheesy LOL

I gave up on this thread because it was a waste of time (and I know I will regret getting back involved), but there is no way I am letting this slip.

Quote me in context on where I said that door rubbers and paint are a part of a regular service. Show everyone where I said it. If this is what I said it should be very easy to quote the post and back up your claim.

debating with the butt-buddies is rather pointless as their IQ is below what is needed to understand the argument.

i don't have to drive through peak hour in fact I rarely drive these days but I know plenty that do. You see them on the six o'clock news nightly stuck on the freeways and Westgate bridge just wasting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of fuel each day going nowhere Sad

Of course you wouldn't know about that because you live in a little village.

ah.. so all your claims of driving thru peakhour ends up like every other one of your claims. PROVEN FALSE. why do you think people beleive nothing of what you said? because all you do is lie and fantasise. if you had any credibility about your EV claims then you would own one, as a matter of principle. But you dont. and probably never will. and ironically you said you would buy one once they are cheaper better and more available which is EXACTLY what Ive been syaing all these years. EVs will become common once they actually work and are affordable. so ultimately, you agree will me.

As opposed to wasting energy that they have spent charging.
And how will we power the electricity to provide the cars?

Oh yeah - coal fired electricity plants.

Electric cars are powered by whatever is powering the electricity plants, the power plug at your house and charging points ..its not always coal and it wont always be coal as for fossil fueled powered cars they will always be powered by fossil fuels.
To assume all power stations are coal fired is to fall into the trap of shock jocks, the junk media and far right pollies
